Is the engine all the way on? And do you have it to where it's set to only come out of the defrost vent?

SOURCE: the AC air comes out defrost sometimes and comes

what position is the control switch in? does this occur when accelerating?

the door that directs air flow is controled by a vacuum motor. the default position for the door directs air flow to the defrost vents in the event of vacuum loss to ensure the windsheild will be clear of mist. if there is a small leak, vacuum will temporarily be removed when accellerating and the motor will revert to the default position. there are vacuum lines from the control knob to the motor you must check these lines for leaks. the diaphram in the motor may be bad. also check the main vacuum supply line to the control knob. usually red in color. if there is a vacuum storage cannister. it may be leaking. this cannister will maintain vacuum for the circuit when accellerating. engine vacuum decreases when accellerating.

My ac unit is working but will not blow air out of the dash vents. The blower is working

Hey man if the blower is working and air is coming from your other vents i have a few ideas.First i would start by checking your vent selection switch something may be stuck where the dash vents open. If the selector is fine you should try checking the ducting behind the dash it could have come apart or simply be cloged where it routes air to your dash. hope that is helpfull.

Most of A/C air is coming out of defrosting vent. Could there be a switch malfunct.

Do an internet search for "blend door repair" - - - the blend doors direct air thru the heater core and evaporator core along with the vents.

1992 chevy g20 van ... AC blows through the lower ducts but not the mail cabin vents. What do I look for to fix this?

Behind the dash, when you throw the lever to change which vents you want air to come through, it can sometimes "slip" over little plastic gears/levers which flip the ductwork to different vents such as floor to the dash vents or defrost. look up from under the dash to see if the vent control switch is actually moving anything underthere.

Air conditioner/heat

I have had ductwork under the dash come undone and cause this-depending on your vehicle, the ducting to your face/feet vents may snap into place. Also the switch that directs the air may not be working, or just not directing to those vents for some reason. Take a quick look underneath and see if you can see anything obvious. Sometimes a vent has just come undone from the rest of the system and needs to be popped back on.
