Question about Mercedes-Benz ML
Hi, I can hear and feel a slight knock noise as soon as I accelerate from a stationary position? The knock only happens once on take off. I also did a test by keeping the car in "drive" gear and accelerated slightly and the same noise happens. Does anybody know what the issue could be? Transmission or mounts etc?
Sounds like your engine mounts need to be replaced. Thats a common issue on ML's hope that helps.

sounds like your CV joints are worn out. If the clicking noise gets worse when turning then its a definite possibility. Also check the CV joint boots for splits as this can quickly wear them out. The dust mixes with the grease to form a grinding paste.

I had the same problem on my 2006 Lucerne and it was the engine mount located on the front of the vehicle behind the radiator.

SOURCE: knocking noise when i accelerate
CHECK ALL DRIVE BELT ACCESSORIES LIKE ALTERNATOR - AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND CRANKSHAFT PULLEY.I HAVE SEEN A LOOSE OR BAD TRANSMISSION MOUNT CAUSE KNOCKING NOISE IF ENGINE ACCELERATED.
