Question about Renault Cars & Trucks
The car was stationary for a couple of months. Recharged the battery, check all the fluid levels, started the car, bu it tends to sputter when you rev it up. It will drive sort-of ok, but when you put your foot down going uphill it will start to sputter seriously up to a point where it will grind to a halt. Is it possible that the fuel pump is on its way out?
That would be my suspicion, too. That or the filter. Check the fuel pressure to be sure. If throttle body injection, pressure should be around 18-20 psi. (Don't know how that translates in Europe.) Multi point injection should have pressure around 40 psi.

SOURCE: engine revs itself when sat idle
bet it failed on lambda reading...........sounds like you got an air leak somewhere ! or could be an idle control valve problem, have you had it plugged into any diagnostic equipment yet ?

Possible accesory power relay staying on due to an internal fault. It is above the fuses in the glovebox. Try sitting in the car, locking it then giving the relay a tap

Most likely to be a faulty resistor block, which has 3 resistors and a thermal fuse controlling fan speeds 1,2 and 3, maximum speed 4 by-passes the resister block. It may also be poor electrical connections to the resistor block caused by overheating. Renault ask for approximately £350 to carry out repairs, a replacement resistor block will cost £50. If you decide to carry out the repairs yourself, be advised that if you are not competent to carry out such work you, could cause electrical damage or worse an electrical fire.

I have 2 meganes im working on at the moment both have the same problem. the electrical falt light is on coz the pipe has snapped (or come off) under the bonnet on the passangers side close to the window (theres a black box about 2 inch wide the pipe connects underneath). if I reconect the pipe and grab the engien with both hands it wobbles and the pipe pulls off. I suspect this is coz one (or all) the engien mountings are shagged. and this will be the cause of the juddering when driveing in first and second gears. solutions iv have come across for juddering involve changeing the coil pack but thats nothing to do with the problem my 2 cars have as one of them has new coils. they are 1.6 petrol, p reg and s reg
