SOURCE: Loseing water from the area

the seal in the pump is out. you need to replace it. the reason there is still water in you resivour is because the water is sucked down through preassure. since you have no pressure because of the water running out of you pump it will not run out of your resivour. also you might check you water hose on the bottom of the water pump. it have burst or came disconnected.

SOURCE: new water pump not pumping.

too many factors could be affecting your unit.

check the hoses, it may be bent and water would not flow fast with a bent hose. check your fan if you have and if they are running as temperature rises.

SOURCE: bmw 316i automatic 1996. have had head skimmed

You have a bad head gasket. You are leaking coolant into the engine block through the cylinders. This is why you have white smoke, and the extra coolant that doesnt get burned off is going into your oil.

SOURCE: My 95 tahoe starts but

did you install the oil pressure switch origional to the tahoe? The tahoe uses a low oil pressure shutdown, instead of an inertia switch to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. If the pressure circuit does not close within 3 seconds after the engine starts the fuel pump shuts off. This is in case the truck is on its side or upside down the pump will shut off.

You may have gotten the wrong pump. Some are reverse rotation, depending on your belt routing. Remove the thermostat and see if the coolant is flowing in the PROPER direction.

Overheating problems for 1987 chevy K5 Blazer

Is it possible the replacement engine has a water pump that turns the opposite direction from the original ?
The thermostat has to be open to allow flow thru the radiator, have you tried running without a thermostat to check flow ?

I have a 2000 chevy impala my heat doesn't work,

first it to verify the coolant flow. I suspect the heater core isn't flowing, you may need to take a garden hose and take both heater hoses off, and flush in both directions to clean the heater core. flush in both directions until you get clean water flow. I am assuming the coolant level is OK, and the water pump is pumping and the engine is getting warm enough.

I have a vito van and i had to change the radiator so i put theb raditor on cheeck the pip but the water flow is not flowing thought as it should what else can i try and how do i bleed the raditor

If the water is not flowing through the radiator then it could be caused by a couple of things. The first and most common would be the thermostat is not opening. The thermostat opens and lets the water circulate. I believe that on these vans you can follow the top radiator hose to the engine and there will be a cover that is held on with 2 or 3 bolts. Remove this cover and replace the thermostat with a thermostat from the dealer. This is about the only part that I buy from the dealer. But the ones at the parts stores are not near as good. You have to replace them about every year. If it is not the thermostat then it is more than likely the water pump has gone bad. The water pump is what circulates the water through the radiator.

Had a new raditor put in and the car still overheats, the left side and top hose gets very hot, but the center and drivers side of the raditor is not hot at all. The thermostat is new also.

sounds like the water pump may be at fault here. with the vehicle cold, remove the radiator cap. start the vehicle and let it come up to operating temperature. check to see if there is coolant flowing through the radiator, it will be obvious. if there is no obvious flow, have the water pump replaced

COOLING HOW IT FLOWS THE WATER WERE IT GOES IN THE TOP ABOVE THE WATER PUMP BOWS OUT NOT IN AND BUILDS UP TO MUCH PRESURE AND OVERHEATS

coolong system flows from the top of the engine to the top rad, flows down out the bottom to the water pump then through the engine, sounds like the thermostat is frozen solid,
