El motor casi enciende, pero no se mantiene el motro encendido. Repentinamente el motor se apagó, y ya no he podido arrancarlo nuevamente. ¿Que será?, ¿que debo verificar?. Agradezco cual quier consejo. Arjiga55

1997 ford explorer xlt 4.0. Starts stays on only if you give it gas. Idle fluctuates low. changed the Ait temp sensor and did a tune up. checked ckp, ckp seems fine. what is the problem?

I had the same exact problem with my 1998 Explorer and it was the Idle Air Control. You can try to remove and clean it but it won't last very long. I replaced it myself in 5 minutes and an expense of $80. Hope this helps.

If i have a 1996 chevy cavalier i have the firing order for the spark plugs but need the order for the distributor or ignition coil

    FIRING ORDERS

    See Figures 1 and 2
To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.
If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes to reflect how your engine is wired.

    1997 mazda 626 won't start.

Are the plugs wet with fuel?
Check for spark. No spark? it may be the ignition module.

Plugs dry and spark present? No fuel?Spray a little starting fluid and see if it will run on that.
Then check pump fuses and for fuel pump noise.

Firing Order diagram for 2006 Ford Explorer

Hope this helps. The ignition coil:
    • changes low-voltage pulses from the PCM to high-voltage pulses.
    • fires 2 spark plugs simultaneously.
    • has 3 transformers.
      • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 5
      • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 2 and 6
      • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 3 and 4
    Spark plug wires:
    • carry high-voltage pulses from the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
    The spark plugs:
    • change high-voltage pulses to spark at the gap, which ignites the fuel and air mixture.
    The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6.

    2 spark plugs not firing

check to see if your plugs need changing and then check your HT/LT leads on the plugs as they may be loose or water clogged somewhere or have a split wire that is just touching enabling it to fire a few times

1997 Jimmy cranks but wont start can hear fuel pump run

There's 2 things that an engine needs to start. One is ...it has to have spark to the spark plugs to detonate the fuel fumes inside the cylinders. Check for spark by removing a spark plug the placing the spark plug next to a ground. Use heavy gloves or rubber gloves so you won't get a shock if it does have spark. Have somebody crank the engine. it should fire a blue spark at the spark plug tip. if it does not. Your problem is you don't have a spark. You have to look at several things that might be causing the lack of spark. It could be the coil or coils, the distributer system , or the ignition system such as your switch.

The other thing it needs is fuel. the fuel system has to be workng right to start your car. Check that the fuel pump is working and that the fuel is being distributed properly.

With the brief explanation you gave that's all I can sy for now.
