Question about 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
I just replaced the drivers door lock actuator and the door lock button still does not work. Anymore have any suggestions
Sorry to say I have nothing for you
We use the site as you do
Anyone can ask or answer question, like there
is no one home here, just a chat room
My question is- does your car have a door module
If so you may have to look up the procedure to recognize
the new parts
That would be a good question for a repair shop
Your just asking, not paying anyone & they can look
in their data base,if they want to,to help answer your
Without service manuals & wiring diagrams, if you work
on your own stuff, your in a bad place
Todays vehicles require system knowledge BEFORE
you approach the car, to do anything, have to know what
is there, so you come up with a strategy for the electrical
side later, after the mechanical repair, have to know first
before you work on a car these days or thing gone from maybe
to not working

Turn off car. Remove the fuse that goes along with the radio, it's under the dash on passenger side. Replace it and turn car back on.

i think it stands for traction control. most cars with that say ETC which stands for electronic traction control. if you have a manual for the car it should say what it is.

You have a intermittent condition. To isolate the cause: 1.Disconnect the drivers door lock/unlock switch from the connector. Drive the vehicle and see if your random lock/unlock condition has stopped. If it has, replace the switch. If it hasn't:
2. You have a grounding problem or a problem in the BCM (Body Control Module) and should have a technician use a Tech 2 Diagnostic Link Tool to access the BCM computer to obtain any fault code data to help correct the condition.

SOURCE: I locked my keys in
A lot of today's cars have seat backs that fold down to allow access to the trunk. I guess you would of already tried that. Just a thought. The only other thing I can think of, besides calling a locksmith, is to see if there is a blown fuse for the remote opener.
