Depends on the mechanic ,old school like me then everything from rotating the tyres to a greasing of the drive shafts and engine oil on the door hinges but modern youngsters ? well just changing the oil and all new filters for the profit involved is what they call a service.Unlike us oldies who got a clip around the ear if we missed a grease nipple or oil the wheel nut threads

My 2001 Audi A4 1.8T starts slipping in the first gear. It takes a lot of time to move in the first gear and Once it reaches 20mph, it runs good. Any solution for this problem?

Hi John:
I'd suggest that considering the age of the vehicle it would be appropriate to bring it to a transmission shop for servicing.

Check engine light even after servicing to correct

you have a misfire, the eng light flashes, avoid driving it , or it can damage the cat converter,i dont know what repair was done, but if you replaced the spark plugs one may be damaged, or incorrect plug gap can cause this concern.

Oil light came on and there is a knocking sound

It sounds as if you seized the motor due to lack of oil ( very easy to prevent too bad you never checked the oil level )

How to change a timing belt on an audi a4 1996 is it easy

It is fairly easy, you do need a special cam alignment too, it can be purchased online for $99. You also need a 2 jaw puller to remove the cam gears.

Care must be taken when servicing this engine as it is an interference engine and if the belt is installed wrong the valves will be bent.

2004 Audi A4 3.0 - Oil pressure Problem

2800.00 for an oil pump? Sounds expensive. Is it only for the pump or is other work involved? There are hoses that deteriorate that have to be replaced and an engine flush that usually goes with that repair. Also your engine may have to be replaced if there is bearing damage to the camshafts or crankshaft. This is a common problem with 1.8T's. You are not the original owner,so are you repairing the car from the selling dealer? It make a difference when your trying to get assistance. You also must have proof that all services were completed, preferably by a dealer. If you have all that and still only offer half take it and be happy!
