Question about 2007 Jeep Commander Rocky Mountain
2008 jeep commander owned since 03/25/2013 69,000miles all of sudden wont turn on.the lights blink on and off and say Transmission over temp, check gauges ,check park system!I am so clueless to what could have happened i only drive it to and from work 4 times a week!I would like to have more information about what the cause could be before i take it to the shop and they take me for $$$$
Would really like to help but iam clueless here as well,if i had motor in front of me and threatened it with my magic hammer then i might have a better idea ,reading your description over and over i think it may be a sensor on the auto box ?could be a wire off touching earth or a faulty temp sensor making it think its overheating causing it to go into limp mode or just shut down mode .No idea exactly where this sensor could be as all our motors are manual here in europe ,well 99% anyway

Sounds like your sending unit sensor - if it was your pump going out, your engine would be history by now. Rule of thumb, if your oil check light ever comes on, it's usually too late to remedy the problem. You have a major issue, but since you've obviousely drove it quite a bit since then and it still hasn't seized up, I'm guessing you're ok...for now. Since you took it to a shop and they said you're ok, I'm assuming they checked your level and visually checked for leaks and found nothing. Either, you've got somethijng partially blocking your pick-up tube for the pump which is in your oil pan, or a electrical issue with the sensor. I would start by having someone check the sensor out and go from there...good luck.

The park assist system detects objects 59 inches or less in back of your vehicle, to warn u so u don't strike the object. I'm guessing that since the service park assist system comes on in the ice and snow, the monitor is detecting something (ice and snow covering the sensor). If u clean off the snow and ice, the message should shut off.
