HOW DO I FIND THE LOCATION OF THE 2001 BMW X5 3.O emergency fuel door release?

Open the boot and to the right hand side of the boot you will see a green round button pull on it and it will pull the locking actuator back allowing you to open the fuel flap, if you can't see the green button then it may have dropped behind the boot cover and you will need to pull the cover back to get to the green pull button.

What does * LIMIT 4 MPH* message means on BMW X5 2001

It sounds like you inadvertently set the speed warning (you can set it in the OBD to warn you if you go over a certain speed). If the car has nav, look under the "settings", second page, and turn it off or set it to something like 85. If you don't have nav, I'm not sure where the setting is but look for "speed warning" in the manual. Hope that helps.

Is their a recall on the 2001 x5 bmw transmission and also the brake lights.

Don't know about recalls, but BMW uses GM 6L80E automatic transmissions. These clunkers were built to carmakers' specifications by GM for MANY manufacturers, including BMW, Honda, Sterling, Rolls Royce...you get the picture.
These transmissions are mechanical and eletrical/electronic nightmares which fail frequently. Many of the problems lie in the carmakers' specifications, asking the thing to do way too many cutesy things to convey a sense of luxury, power, and superiority. They have way too many parts for the task of moving an automobile, and when they fail, they frequently go into a pre-programmed "Limp Home" mode, allowing the use of one forward gear only at a low speed.
BMW is a fine automobile; too bad they over-engineered and contracted out the transmissions.

Bmw 2001 4.4 x5 sensor

You will need to replace the oil level sensor. It is located on the bottom of the the foward oil pan. Do it during a oil change, you will have to remove the oil first. Here is a link to the part at Bimmer Specialist. Call and make sure it is the correct one before you buy. Good Luck.
