SOURCE: Buick Roadmaster radiator fan

hi Russ, it sounds like the temperature switch is bad. It is located under the hood, front engine area, driver side, end of intake manifold, mounted in the block. U should be able to test it w/ an ohmeter as follows: disconnect wiring (check for loose, corroded, etc as that could be the problem) remove temp. switch, place in an old pot w/ water on stove, w/ temp below 99 degrees, connect ohmeter to terminals, reading should be zero. Heat water to above 99 degrees, check , should read infinity. If it fails this test, it's time to replace it. Good luck, let me know how u make out Curt from Connecticut.

SOURCE: 94 buick roadmaster over heating changed waterpump

I feel there is a sort somewhere in the fan circuitry, check its fuse unit. Also ensure proper level of engine oil is present in the engine. Actually your car might be overheating because the respective fans are not powering on at the correct time, but you mentioned that these fans are in working condition so it has to on something in this circuit that is preventing completion of this circuit by their respective sensors which you have recently changed...............sodeep

Where is the fusible link?

There is a black wire that goes from the battery + terminal to the battery junction block (not the one that goes to the starter solenoid). A red wire runs from the BJB to FUSIBLE LINK A (14 GA-RUST).

There is a PPL (purple?) wire that runs from terminal A of the ignition switch to the S terminal of the starter solenoid. If you turn the ignition switch to START, the starter should, well, start. If not, the solenoid is ng.

How to replace water pump on 1993 buick roadmaster

use a serpentine wrench and remove the belt. Remove the large fan. The water pump is right behind the big fan. Get a new one, use a gasket adhesive to help hold the gasket in place and place at least one bolt through the pump before you put it against the motor. Torque the bolts properly. Refill the antifreeze. IF it runs hot, bleed the radiator of trapped in the system.

1994 Roadmaster Sedan

Did it sound like a small fan running? The Roadmaster has thermal actuated electric fans for the Radiator in some models. If you can see the front of the engine (no fan) then you have electric fans. If there is a large shroud in front of the motor, you have a mechanical fan. The Thermal fans will operate when the car is hot, even after the engine is shut off.

Blower motor will not shut off when you turn key off

It's normal for the radiator fans to keep running after the engine is turned off. They will stop after a few minutes.

Change oil light on 96 roadmaster estate wagon. please help.

If you don't have the owners manual most of them were you turn on the ignition to run but do not start the car. Now push the gas peddal to the floor 3 times quickly. The light should start to flash then go out. Turn off the ignition and now start it the light should stay out if it comes back on there is most likely a problem in the ECM or wiring.
