Question about Cars & Trucks
I have a 2001 GT Mustang Conveter. A/T OD,4.6 L SOHC, it has 141,000.0 mile on it the motor still run like it was new, but I know it run alitter rough sometime,my problem is that when I go to town like about 30-45 mile away, I may go 55-65 mph, when it is warm up! drive it down the road the rpm will drop about 4-6 rpm,for about 5-6 second an go's back up to were it suppose to be, like if I go 60mph, it is run 2,000 rpm, an it will do this every 5-6 mile apart. now to me I don't think it is the trans. cos I think it do it all the time. if this is a sensoer.then I can replae it my self, if I knew which one it is, or should I take it to a ford dealer an have then put it on the machine to find out what it is doing, now the engine& trans. check light does not come on. ok now let say it is the Trans., an it has to be rebuild or replace, an I have add some aftermark to it an it push alitter ove 300hp or more, what kind of trans. would be the best to put in it. Engine problem you can use obd2 scanner to check system first.Make sure it don't get fault codes.

Your speed sensor in your trans. needs to be checked out sounds like its not working or not getting a good signal until its generating enough power and speed to start until it reaches 30 MPH. Check that out sometimes it could just be some dirt on it. It all makes sense the ABS light is on because its not reading the speed of the tires, and the AOD light is on because It has no idea when to shift into overdrive without knowing how fast its going. I sure Hope that Helps You Out, And Thanks, Bear001

It seems to be clutch problem.
There is a way to slightly adjust the idle,on the front of the throttle body where the intake boot is bolted on,abovt the boot and slightly to the left you will see a hole about 1/2 inch wide and it is plugged with grey epoxy like material. Using a flat head screw driver scrape the epoxy out of the hole and there is a flathead adjustment screw. You can adjust the idle up and down just a few hundred rpm. Hope this helps and let me know if there is any more direction you need.

Drop in to an Autozone, or Pep Boys, or similar big parts store & they will usually scan for codes free. This will hopefully eliminate all the guess work, or at least point everyone in right direction for better diagnosis. If not obvious from codes what the problem is, get back to us and we'll help you out.

SOURCE: ck engine light on - no code
Check engine light with no codes usually means a PCM reset is happening. EBP shorting, ICP shorting, aftermarket "performance chip". PIDS need to be monitored to eliminate sensors. IDMs (Injector Driver Modules) can also cause this. IDM's are separate from the PCM/ECM (engine computer).
