Question about 2003 Chrysler Sebring

Cpu change Is there a way to find out for sure if the garage I took my car to changed my cpu like they said they did or if they screwed me ???

You can use a scan tool to look at the software in there
You would have marked the old one would you not?

I just changed the motor in my 96 s10 and and the truck I took the motor out of ran fine I drove it into my garage did the swap and now it won't start just backfires

did u put the same computer in also--certain engines dont jive with anothr cpu--some need flashing or reprogrammin from a mechanic with factory equip-----------1st chec all ignition wires n components-also make sure no vacuum leaks exist-some r hidden--rest up and du an inspection-u may see some flaws---disconnect the plug on the computer clean w electric spray-cud help the pins--then plug bac in 2-3 types-kinda like a reboot

Oil pressure gauge is jumping from 20 to 40 psi. Is this a sign the oil pump is bad?

Probably not, as oil pumps are usually "forever" , unless the oil changes are not done and the system plugs up.
I'd recommend you find a garage that will remove the oil pressure sending unit and screw in a real oil pressure gauge, and test it.
Oil pressure switches that screw into the block fail occasionally, and dashboard oil pressure gauges sometimes fail also.

No it is impossible to say without testing the vehicle and doing a complete analysis with the correct diagnostic equipment.

These vehicle have numerous electrical faults that sometimes the VW dealer service centres cannot diagnose. What has been happening to you is the mechanics have been guessing what the problem is and just changing things without really identifying the actual cause - as you have now found. These are very unreliable cars so do not be fooled by the "german quality" label that people frequently and wrongly apply to German cars.

If you want and need a reliable car I would recommend you get rid of this Golf and get yourself a Mazda (and have any prospective used car thoroughly inspected before biuying). If you keep the Golf I guarantee it will give you much grief and cost you plenty more repairs.

When I am driving my 2003 Peugeot 206 GTI 2.0 car at around 20-30mph, the drivers side rear wheel squeels when going around corners. It doesn't start until the car has been going for a bit and it doesn't...

It could be wheel bearings or it could be bent callipers if other garage who fitted the brakes did a poor job of removing old ones by beating callipers when they couldn't remove em as they may have had rusted screws good garages will keep trying without damaging but some do damage callipers.

What is the capacity for transsmission pan in my chevy cavalier 2.4 1997

If you're just dropping the trans pan of an AUTOMATIC transmission; about 5 quarts. If you mean the entire transmission, its more like 10 quarts. If it's a MANUAL trans, it's a little under 2 quarts.

Car won't start...not glow plugs...or battery...garage at a loss.

Just make sure your getting fuel at each injector by cracking them open a little when cranking it over. As long as your getting fuel, and it cranks fast enough, it is impossible for it to NOT start. Deisel engines can be started also with a quick spray of starter fluid, it has to fire, there's nothing to stop it from starting. Just keep at it and be sure it's getting fuel at every cylinder and cranks fast enough. Your only other problem could be the injector pump out of time if you have done anything ay all with it. Best not to have touched that injector pump in the first place, EVER. Lotsa luck pal, ya just gotta stay on it.

Check to see if you are getting fuel to the engine.If not replace the pump relay.Then change the pump if still not working.Check for spark at the wires if you have no spark then change the crank sansor.If still no spark then change the coil pack.

Transmission problems

they should have suggested changing tranny screen and filter if tranny isnt maintained every 20,000to 30,000 you end up with gray like particles from normal wear wich get caught in the screen and valve body wich leads to erractic shifting valve body problems eventually tranny replacement number 1 rule oil changes on motor and screen and filter on tranny prevents premature wear longer life to two major key factors
