Which radiator cap does this radiator originally use? I just bought this used car and it has a 1.1 kg/cm3 radiator cap on it.

This is where you fluid goes. If I were you, I would stay away from those sealants. But yes you can put the sealant in the reserve, but it;s best if you drain half the water out, pour in coolant and then re-fill. This gives it a better chance to flow throughout the system. Sometimes these sealants can cause more harm than good in the long run.

    How to Flush the Radiator in a car?


    The procedure to flushthe radiator in most of the car is near to same. so you can follow thisinstructions in any other car model also. mostly it will help other then Chevyimpala also. at least it will give you fair idea to flush the radiator.
    Because dirt and grimecan build up during regular use of the car, an owner should flush the radiatorof his Chevy Impala every other year.
    You willrequire some tools like :-- Work gloves, Coolant, Pan or bucket, Wrench and Distilled water.
    The procedure is as follows:--
    1) Park the car on a level surface from where the underneath of thecar is more accessible.
    2) Then open the hood of the car and touch the radiator. Don’ttouch the or open the radiator if it feels hot to touch. If the radiator iscool to the touch, then loosen the radiator cap with one turn. Wait for 2minutes to make sure the pressure in the radiator is gone. Then remove the radiator cap.
    3)Then place the bucket/traybeneath the radiator drain plug to catch the old coolant.Make sure the tray /bucket has at least a 2-gallon capacity.
    4)After the old coolant is bleeded out then use the wrench to remove the radiator drain plug fromthe underside of the radiator. In some car models , the drain is not directlyunderneath the radiator but on the backside of the radiator.
    5) Then Flush the radiator of the car out with distilled water. Don’t use tap it candamage your coolant system. distilled water is recommended to drain into thepan and dispose of the flush solution flush the radiator until you see the drained water is clear ofdebris.
    6) Reinsert the radiator plug back into its original position.

    My overflow reservoir fills, and will not go back into the radiator. Why?


    Hi,
    Check the radiator cap seal.
    If the radiator cap is not sealed the vacuum pressure that suppose to s_uck back the coolant from reservoir will not work.
    Better buy/replace that radiator cap with original specs.

    There are 2 ways to add coolant, 1) the overflow tank (resembles windshield washer tank) it's plastic and has a line that connects to the neck of the radiator. 2) With the car cold, you can open the radiator cap and add coolant. IMPORTANT: Never open a radiator cap when the car is warm.
    On the overflow tank, there are 2 FILL LINES, 1 for when the engine is cold and another when it's warm. If adding directly to the radiator, fill until the level approaches the neck of the radiator.

    Antifreeze is leaking from around my radiator cap on my 2003 chevy impala and I think it is the cause for my car overheating but my radiator cap is not hot, What could be wrong?


    try to replace a new rad. cap-if still leaking & original radiator-then the tanks are wearing down,try putting some stop leak in it momentary-radiator may need to be replaced-not that big of job,you can do yourself-shops will charge $$$$$ hope that helps-good luck!

    Using two or three steps, tighten the bearing caps to 12-14 Nm (120-140 kg.cm, 9-10 ft. lbs.)
