Were is the fuel shutoff swith on my 2000 dodge dakota

It's doesn't have one ford is the only domestic car manufacturer that uses an inertia fuel shut off if it isn't getting fuel pressure you might have a bad fuel pump any easy way to check is put your ear to the tank and have someone turn the key on you should hear a buzz for about three seconds if no buzz verify power and ground and replace the fuel pump

Motor turns over. when air fitler line removed spray ether starts and then dies. whats wrong but fuel pump is not bad

As with all injected Fords, inertia switch could be tripped if something bumped into car. Seen this trip after dropping vehicle to the floor on a floor jack too. If the inertia swith isnot it, feel free to get back to me and we'll do some furthur exploring. Mitchell claims that the fuel pump inertia swith is located on the right(passenger) side of the transmission hump, under the carpet, on the toe board. If you don't find it there, check the owner's manual. There is a red button on the side of the switch, that will click audibly when pushed, if the switch was indeed tripped.

You need to verify that the pump is not getting power,if this is true then you need to see if the fuel pump relay is being powered and if not then check the inertia switch,if it is being powered up check to see if the relay is swithing power to the pump,if not replace the relay,if so you have a broken wire between the relay and the fuel pump, repair as needed

I need to know where to find my fuel relay switch so that I can replace the old one.

fuel pump relay is on the driver's side in the engine compartment next to EEC relay.
if the truck does not get fuel you need to check the inertia swith under the dash above the brake pedal.
there is a red button if it popped up then push it down

1997 Ford F150 Electric Fuel Pump will npt pump

Did you check the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

The fuel pump is powered :
the fuse to the fuel pump relay.
The fuel pump relay to the fuel inertia switch
The fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump itself.

At the fuel inertia switch in the kick panel, power from the relay is the Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire and the pink w/ black stripe wire is the power. from the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump.

If you jumper the fuel pump relay, you should hear it run. If not pull the fuel pump relay, and check the pins in the relay socket, pin 30 should be the power from the fuse.

If you have power at pin #30, jumper the relay socket as shown with the red line above, and check the dark green w/ yellow stripe wire at the fuel inertia switch for power.
Press the button on the top of the fuel inertia switch, and check for power leaving the fuel inertia switch on the pink w/ black stripe wire.

This is tests good, check for power at the fuel pump, same pink w/ black stripe wire.
Fuel inertia switch info is in the owners manual, If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
