Question about Cars & Trucks
Recently my truck has been harder and harder to start thought it might be fuel pump so first thing i did was change fuel filter truck started right up then two to three days later started getting hard to start again. every morning i sit in my truck and just turn my key on and off i can hear my pump buzzing but dont know if its actually injecting or not cuz it takes about three or four times for the truck to actually start after i have turned the key off multiple times. also it could be my starter i have a sound system and its a little much for my truck i have a db drive platinum series 15 with a 1500 watt memphis power refrence amp and like a walmart capacitor. the only thing ive done to trouble shoot this was change my fuel filter so any tips on what i should do next would be awesome thanks
Sounds like you may be losing fuel pressure. The first thing I would do is hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the test port located on the fuel rail on the backside of the engine near the distributor. You should see more than 58psi and it should hold pressure for more than a half an hour and better yet several hours. If pressure is not 58PSI the vehicle will not start. If pressure gets up above 58 psi but drops fast than you either have a leaking fuel pressure regulator or a bad fuel pump check valve. The fuel pressure regulator is located under the intake plenum on the backside of the CPI fuel injection unit. The only fix for a bad check valve on the fuel pump is to replace the fuel pump.

SOURCE: hard start
Its your fuel pump.I had the same plomblem not too long ago.I was spraying either in to start it.I have a 97 chevy truck witch requires 65 psi to start and 55 to run properly. You need to find out much psi you need to start it.You can probaly look in your manual or just make a few calls. My truck had 55 psi and it ran fine i just had to get it running first.Good luck.I wonder if that fuel pressure regulator was a waste of time like it was for me.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

I had to take my car back to the dealership twice. First, they replaced the ignition switch. 3 days later, my car wouldn't start again. So I took it back and they called VW - VW said to replace the steering column module. I asked my dealer why they didn't replace the steering colum module first - they said that even if they had replaced that first, the old ignition switch would have shorted out the steering column module. Whatever.
$600 later my car has been fine for about 3 weeks now. If it happens again I will keep you posted.

Hey have you recently changed your head unit. I have a 2000 s10 2.2 and i recently hardwired my pioneer 4000ub head unit and the security light came on upon not starting. every time you try to start the car while the security light is on it will add 10 minutes onto your time. For the security light not to come on you need to check your wiring. just remember dont keep trying becuase it wont work!!! find the problem and fix it.

I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator and now I am hearing a vibrating noise from the fuel line under the truck. What do you think the problem is.
