It is doubtful the ECM went but what could have went is the TCM (transmission control module). With that said the Licoln navigator comes with back up sensors and it is possible you damaged a sensor. The ECM would pick it up as an error.

SOURCE: A604 solenoid pack interchangability

If I remember right the 2000 solenoid pack is slightly different than the '96. I've only seen that happen myself once. I just called my local bone yard and got a solenoid pack from the same year of trans. and did it that way.

The problem is probably not fixed. I would need to know the code number to make any suggestions.
Replacing a sensor does not always fix the problem if that is what you did.

I have the air bag light ''on'' on my lincoln navigator 2000.

Remove clips from battery and then check carefully all the air bag sensors i.e under driver seat or passenger seat. Best way is a computer diagnose to find the right cause from car's ecu.

Engine stalls out when put into reverse.

Sounds like you may have a faulty cigarette lighter circuit. Bypass the lighter terminal. Or better yet, use one of those bic lighters or a match. Good luck.
