Transmission fluid is almost black

1st your sure your not looking at the motor oil instead (that color is not good on motor oil either) , but if your sure your looking at the transmission fluid then id say that trans has problems ! a fluid /filter change is the place to start , but if that's no good and trans still doesn't work well then a rebuild is the best way to eliminate any problems

Leaking power steering pump subaru liberty 96

I have not seen a power steering unit located on top of an engine usually they are on one side of the motor. I will need more info like is it drops of fluid or a spray pattern of oil or spatter???? where on the motor besides top is the oil top front top back??? Please don't take this wrong , I just have questions without seeing it its somewhat difficult to actually know what's going on with the oil and color of oil is it thin or thick fluid???

When I turn on the air conditioning in my 2005 Dodge Neon, the engine leaks motor oil and the ac no longer blows cool air.

AC and motor oil leak are two separate issues unless your hoses have been wrongly connected (remote). So first attend to the oil leak. check if there is sufficient clean oil. If not get oil change. Once this problem solved, get AC checked out for freeon and fan connections.

My 03 Maxima (3.5l 255 hp) started burning oil at rate of 1 qt per 1000 mi. One guy at the dealer says this is normal, just keep adding oil, other guy at dealer says 'time to get a new car." Either way, it...

1qt per 1000 miles isn't too bad, all things considered. There is probably some leakage through the piston seals, which is to be expected after 115,000 miles. I would give a good quality leak-fix in a can a try, as they can really help with some of the more minor leaks. If it is a piston ring or seal problem, its an expensive fix, but give a canned solution a go to see if it helps.

Another option that a mechanic friend of mine suggested for my old Grand Am was going from synthetic to conventional motor oil. Synthetics don't generate sludge or buildup, which is great, most of the time, but when mine started to leak oil and smoke on startup he suggested going back to conventional, as some of the buildup would actually help stop the minor leaks.

Oil leak

could have the wrong dip stick holster or wrong dip stick there sould be a bolt holding the holster down in the side of your motor if you losen the bolt take it out an chek the seal around the holster if the hoster dose not snug in our out you can buy a new one and try that but im just taking a wild guess or while you have the holster out look down it an make sure it dos not have something jammed in it

well the running rough part sounds like a fuel pressure regulator..and as far as the smoke goes there could be a puddle of it somewhere on the motor so it spills a little at a time causeing it to smoke for a while or your oil filter could be loose and that would cause it to leak so maybie ckeck your once in a while to see if it loses oil or anything like that.

Developed oil leak below oil filter where block mounts to upper sump section!!

This is a real big problem with these cars! I have had the engine apart TWICE and it still leaks!

My guess is that the Aluminum parts are Warped and no matter how much sealant you use... it's going to leak. I used oil dye too and though I can see when it's coming from..the leak just won't seal!

I own a garage in CA

So, unless you have mad skills take it's not going to be cheap to fix and it might not stay fixed for long. we have gotten it to leak less but never to stop %100.
