SOURCE: ABS brake light comes on.

No there is no reset, sounds like you have a bad ABS sensor on one of the wheels. Only way to tell is to get it to a brake shop or dealer to check it. Good luck dont forget to rate.

SOURCE: possible bad alternator?

I went through three alternators before we found a good one for our saturn sl2. Now she has been good for two years. All I did was go back to where we bought it from, they hooked up the alternator to a machine and gave us a new one when it read that it was faulty.

SOURCE: 2006 Chrysler Pacifica touring abs light on stays on

Hi. this light is a warning that concerns the ABS sensor and mechanism assembly. there is a central module and connecting sensors that are attached to each axle/rotor. If any of the sensors become unstable or starts to malfunction, the main module will detect this anomaly and it will trip the light via, the ECM.

I recommend taking this vehicle in so that the ABS techs can diagnosis this issue and they can pin point which sensor or mechanism is malfunctioning.

You vehicle seems to operate in a normal manner at this point but, you will actually have to be in a hard braking situation in order to experience this malfunctions results. If you where to initiate a hard brake while the ABS system is in safe mode(light on), your vehicle would simply lock up. It would not provide the ABS actions due to this malfunction that is evident at this point.

Please rate and god bless:)

SOURCE: "Chk Trac light" on 2000 Lincoln Town Car

MAKE SURE TIRES ARE ALL THE SAME SIZE FIRST OF ALL,NEXT MAY HAVE A SPEED SENSOR NOT OPERATING PROPERLY OR BENT OR MISSING EXCITER RING ON FRONT HUB OR REAR AXLE. EITHER WAY THERE IS AN ABS FAULT OR A DIFFERENCE IN WHEELSPEED ON ONE OF THE FOUR WHEELS CAUSING TRAC LIGHT TO ILLUM. VEHICLE THINKS YOU ARE LOSING TRACTION AND APPLYING ABS AND MISFIRING VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL TRACTION IS RECOVERED

Abs light comes on, overcharging and gauges bounce up and down?

Check the charging system and battery, as long as the alternator keeps fluctuating, the gauges will keep bouncing.

I have a 2007 Mercedes E350 4matic with abs esp inop message and speedtronic imop. Is it ok to drive approx 500 miles before I get it fixed?

As long as you have good brakes the ABS part of the braking system does not have to be working. I drove two years without ABS and my mechanic said this was ok as the ABS part of the system makes for the wheels to alternate so on ice they don't just slide on one side. My light was on all this time .In saying that make sure your brakes are in good working condition. If they are worn out you will have to replace them.

Brakes and barrin problems

I dont think you should be behind the wheel of anything but a grocery cart...
how can you only have back brakes yet you say your brakes in the back dont catch ???
gas gauge is inop and that has nothing to do with your ability to stop... please tell me you don't reside east of the Mississippi River !!!

I would be willing to bet your back brakes are probably leaking and completely inop. need to be serviced... check your front brakes as well...

as for the gas gauge. a new sending unit is probably what you need

My brake and anti brake lights stay on all the time

CHECK ALTERNATOR OUTPUT IT SHOULD BE 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS WITH ENGINE RUNNING.IF VOLTAGE LOWER 12 VOLTS THAT WILL CAUSE BRAKE AND ANTI LOCK BRAKE LIGHTS TO COME ON BECAUSE THAT NOT ENOUGH POWER FOR ABS BRAKES OPERATION.IF ALTERNATOR GOOD.BRAKE AND ABS LIGHTS ON ALSO MEANS LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.ALSO. YOU HAVING BRAKE FAILURE.YOU NEED TO HAVE GARAGE OR DEALERSHIP CHECK BRAKES SYSTEM.BEFORE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAIL.

The usual problem for all the lights going on is the ignition switch. Not the cylinder the switch. What happens is the switch furnishes power to everything and when the switch goes bad you loose power and all the lights will come on.You can always get the alternator checked you don`t have to replace it.If your in doubt. Most part stores will do this for free.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Sounds like a major short. Might try abs disconnect and see what happens. But first look for direct short in wires around brake pedal and under hood around alternator.
