Question about Cars & Trucks
When I test the power on the disconnected wires of the window washer there is a 12V reading. Pump is working when I connect it directly on the battery, but not when connected to the normal wires.
You may have a problem with the communication link from main module(electrics) to the wiper motor or the wiper motor could be a culprit. Also make sure that the wiper motor fuse is good. It needs to be scanned for code to make sure there is a communication link.

If it is not a problem with the fuses then the window wiper motor may have given up. It should be very easy to find one from a scrap yard (cheap as well) and they are easy to replace as long as you have a couple of spanners.
Make sure you check that the fuses haven't blown first!
Hope this helps a bit, let me know if you need any further info.

i had the same problem. After checking the window motor was not the problem i then checked the wiring harnes in the door. I beeped out all the connectors to make sure there were no broken wires and cleaned up all the contacts. The main connector looked quite corroded. I sprayed all the connectors with rust check and reassembled. The window is working fine now

car electrics are a nightmare. the car lights up when a door is open i presume. and by bypassing the central locking. the electric computer says there is a fault. and will not start. that i think is programed in. best thing to do is. go to phone VW dealer ask about diagnostic test without repair. about £35 then fix it yourself. they garentee it right I think. the dealers have come into line better with that kind of thing phone and ask anyway.

did you check the fuses? is the battery voltage over 12volts? did you check something else for power with the same ground you used for the fuel pump test?
