SOURCE: trac light blinks an i hear a clicking noise in my

that is traction control. most vehicles with traction control use a combination of brakes/throtle control and transmission upshifting to control traction. in other words, your car computer senses wheel spin and then overides you to make the car regain traction. most cars that feature traction control also have a button to turn traction control on and off manually.

Tests/Procedures: 1. Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate sensor/deceleration sensor. Potential Causes: Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration
Tech Tips: Code C1336 is for Deceleration sensor zero point calibration undone. To perform zero point calibration, have the steering wheel in the straight ahead position and have the vehicle on a level surface within an inclination of 1%. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Use a jumper wire and connect terminals TS and CG of Data Link Connector (DLC) 3. Turn the ignition switch ON. Keep the vehicle stationary on a level surface for 2 seconds or more and verify that the VSC warning light blinks. Diagnostic Codes: C1336

I have a 2005 jeep liberty. none of the 4wd lights on the dash light up when selecting the different 4wd modes, stopped working today. can anyone please help me with this

usa? not diesel?
why are you in 4wd? snow, ice, off road, do tell.
not sure what lamps are dead, no photo by you.
are you talking parking lamps dead in dash? called illumination
or the mode lamps. ????
where on the dash, the main cluster? where? TRY TO BE EXACT.
do you mean shift console lamps, ????? those are on the dimmer feed.
the best answer is get car serviced
or scan it, see if there are errors. to the 4wd system etc.

we cant do grinds here, we deaf and blind and....
find a shop , that can find LOCATIONS. of noise
only That works, ever.
grinding in all modes of use, parked, neutral. driving, hills, gears.
do you have any warning lamps glowing ,driving?
the lamps if the 4wd lamps are dead.
tell me you are not using 4Low mode on pavement, first.

lamp 19 FULL TIME , dead or stuck on??????
or the switch bank dead?
command trac or select trac 4wd.? NV241 or NV242?
2 options day 1.

here is my guess,
you are using 4wd incorrectly
do tell what tires are sitting on.
the me it car is command or select trac opted
and all lever selections you tried.
EACH 4wd mode has rules.
rule one stay out of 4-low. unless off road

the opr guide is here if lost.
see the word secret , here.

command trac, 4w is not for driving on ice free pavemenet
Comman trac is part time 4wd, (the word part meas, ice or dirt)
select trac, is full time, (never in 2w low) 4H works on pavement even dry. page 240 in your op guide.
The rules on the 2 boxes are totally different.

My 2011 jeep liberty will not lock into 4 wheel drive

so what 4wd system is there, we can guess that.
part time, or AWD full time.
if part time stop doing that on pavement free of ice .
part time is for ice or dirt only
to be real tech savvy , on PT, it means, one tire on ice or dirt.
lost the operators guide, ? in the glove box?
its here.

4WD Indicator - Vehicles Equipped with

2007 ford explorer sport trac 4.0 ruff idle was told it was it was a misfire but no cel or codes what kinda misfire causes no cel or throw a code done a tune up and cleaned throttle body didn't help

vacuum leaks will cause rough idle and are not always reported in codes
check vent control vacuum hoses, transmission vacuum actuator hose
if it is electronic there will be codes stored and so I have to ask , is the correct procedure being used in connecting the scanner

Trac off light comes on & then car shifts hard. When we shut it off & then re-start it, it works fine. Any ideas?

Youll need to scan for transmission codes. the trac off light is a default of the trans going into a default safety mode. Bad speed sensors and simple little bolt on items like that can cause this problem.-------- But as you mentioned in your question that " When we shut it off & then re-start it, it works fine." this indicates that computer gets reset when you turn car on off. so there is error code stored, but its getting reset.Get the car scanned at autozone service center or at local car garage and retrieve the error codes, that will point towards the cause of the problem.------- Mostly its ABS wheel sensors causing the problem.----------- Also other possibility for this trac light coming on and car hard shifting is problem with iat sensor or problem with tps sensor.------- The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor determines the air temperature inside the intake manifold. Resistance changes in response to the ambient air temperature. The sensor has a negative temperature coefficient. As the temperature of the sensor rises the resistance across the sensor decreases. This provides a signal to the PCM indicating the temperature of the incoming air charge. This sensor helps the PCM to determine spark timing and air/fuel ratio. Information from this sensor is added to the pressure sensor information to calculate the air mass being sent to the cylinders. The IAT is a two wire sensor, a 5-volt reference signal is sent to the sensor and the signal return is based upon the change in the measured resistance due to temperature. The IAT sensor is located in the air cleaner outlet tube.--------- The throttle position sensor, also called the TP sensor, helps to regulate the throttle position on a car's engine. A faulty TP sensor can cause an illuminated check engine light in your Cavalier, as well as cause the engine to run inefficiently. Replacing the TP sensor is simple, quick and inexpensive.
Locate the throttle position sensor. The sensor is attached to the rear of the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connection from the sensor.
Pull the throttle position sensor off; you may have to wiggle it back and forth to remove it.-------
---------------------- So first get car scanned at car diagnosis center, and get error code. The error code will exactly point, which part is causing the problem. But if in case no error code is retrieved, then this possible parts mentioned needs to be tested and faulty one will have to be replaced.----------- This will help, thanks.Helpmech.

Both the check engine light is on, but I had a mechanic look at it and nothing appeared wrong. It went off for a few days and came back on? Any suggestions as to what my mechanic might have...

When the CEL is lit the TRAC (tion control) system is often switched off and the warning light is lit to remind you of that fact; this may also involve the ABS (anti lock braking system). The CEL light can come on if you leave your fuel filler cap on loose, the Engine Control Unit (ECU - power control module) sees the loose cap as problem in the fuel vapour evaporative control system and switches on the CEL. Even if the cap is put on firmly it takes some time for the ECU to reset itself. Disconnecting the negative lead to the battery for five minutes is usually enough for the ECU to rest itself and remove the stored error codes.

The vsc trac and vsc off, plus the check engine just came up on the dash board. What do I do to make them disappear? Its a toyoto 4runner 2004.

For some reason on Toyota and some Lexus vehicles certain check engine light CEL issues also result in the ECU lighting up the vsc trac and vsc off lights. The ECU actually switches these anti skid and anti lock brake systems off and the lights are to remind you that they are disabled. 1) Check that the fuel cap is on securely 2) Check the oxygen sensors on the exhaust, check that connections are clean and there are no missing wires. 3) Have someone check the on-board diagnostic codes if the CEL is still on
