Its the battery. The colder it gets the less cranking amps it has. Keep the car in garage or get a battery wrap warmer. Also try to get a battery with the most cranking amps for the size battery it will take.

One by one, disconnect the fuses until you see no change on a volt/ohm meter connected to the battery with the engine not running.

Don't do that again! You will need to re-boot the on board computer system by entering a code. Call your nearest Cadillac dealer.

There is a current drain taking place. Check for simple things first, like glovebox or vanity mirror lights staying on, check all lighting to make sure it is off when truck is off. Beyond that the alternator needs to be tested and a technician needs to check for other causes for parasitic drain.

2001 Jetta TDI Battery drain??

If you suspect the alternator, disconnect the 12V line coming directly from the battery and check for current drain. Are you sure the current unit is in ampere (A) and not milliampere (mA)? A 5A current will drain your battery in about an hour. A 5mA current is just about normal considering the parasitic load (radio memory chip, clock, ECM memory circuit, etc.). Try checking your battery. It could be the real culprit.

You may have a parasitic drain on the battery.
Check the voltage on your fuses after you turn it off. Wait 5 minutes before doing so.
Hook up an Amp meter in series with the battery and see what the current draw is. If it is more than 250 milliamps you have a parasitic drain.

There is a strong possibility that you may have what is called a parasitic drain on your battery. Which simply means that there is something running in the background that is pulling a load on your battery. These kinds of drains can extremely hard to find. To help you determine of you have a parasitic drain you will need a multimeter. If you do not have one I would recommend taking your vehicle to a trusted automotive service center. Call then first to determine what they charge per hour for diagnostics. usually will be about 1 to 2 hours diagnostics time.

Parasitic key off battery drain, how to fix My battery is draining when the car is off, approx a .10 drain, what might it be? Have checked alternator and have new battery both are fine.....

Keep the ammeter in series with the battery with everything off. take out each fuse in turn and note any change to the the residual current drain. The fuse that when pulled out results in a drop in the current drain will identify the guilty circuit. Interior glove box and trunk lights are classics for staying on when they should be off, often the contact brackets get bent and so not longer push the switch as far as they should to break connection. Good hunting

You have a direct current drain while the car is parked....a short or stuck relay or something is not shutting down when you turn the car off. This is called a key off parasitic electrical drain. You can test for this with an amp meter.
If everything is normal, you will read less than 35 milliamps, or .035 amps.(one hour after car is turned off) If the current drain is higher than that, you need to find out what is draining your batteries: You can start by pulling fuses until the load goes away. If that doesn't reduce the draw, you need to look for a wire that is corroded or frayed.
Good luck and happy hunting...

Are your power seats working? Mine shorted out and several days later my battery was dead because the short was drawing power from the battery when the car was not running. If your battery and charging system check out o.k, I would say you have some kind of parasitic drain on your battery.
