2007 suzuki XL-7 V6 3.6L power steering diagram

Looking for general principles of operation and anatomy of power steering system, including flushing metal shavings out of the lines, troubleshooting, replacement, proper location of power steering fluid filter, etc. especially for a 2007-09 Suzuki XL-7. Haynes manuals fails to list anything for this model. ChiltonDIY.com and AutoZone.com also have no online service manual for this car. Will continue to try numerous fruitless search engine inquiries.

SOURCE: Suzuki Grand Vitara Oil Filter Replacement Disaster

Four or six cylinder engine and behind or front of the oil filter? Looked under my GV 2007 2.7 V6 and can not locate a shiny metal box next to the oil filter. Only thing that was shiny was the exhaust manifold and oil sump which are quite hard to break or puncture. If it was the oil sump you will have to remove it and get it welded as a bog will not hold on heated engine parts.

SOURCE: Where can I get the remote control for Suzuki XL-7 DVD player

Had the same problem. My wife went to a car audio place and bought the wireless headphones, I think they were cheaper. And I just bought a universal remote from Radio Shack, its a Radio Shack brand little gray remote. It was 9.99. You have to use the "search for codes" option in the instructions. I can turn the tv on, off, stop, play, skip, all that stuff.

How to replace power steering pump on 1998 Volvo v70

Place the vehicle in park or neutral with the emergency brake. Let the engine idle. Raise the hood and remove the cap on the power steering pump reservoir. The cap will have a plastic dipstick on the end of it. Wipe the dipstick portion with a rag and screw it back down on the reservoir. Unscrew the lid and check the level indicated on a marked scale on the dipstick. The level should read at the top "Hot" mark. Low fluid level will cause the pump to whine. Fill to the appropriate level and listen for noise.
Inspect the condition of the power steering fluid with the cap off the reservoir. It should be translucent red and slightly thick to the touch. Brown, black or sudsy-looking fluid indicates contamination. Power steering fluid that has lost its viscosity (thickness) cannot properly lubricate the seals, bearings and vanes inside the pump, which will cause a high-pitched whine or squealing noise. If the fluid feels gritty between the fingers, it means rust, metal shavings and dirt has entered the reservoir.
Use a slot screwdriver to loosen the low-pressure rubber hose clamp on the bottom side of the power steering pump reservoir. Catch any drippings in a pan. Loosen the high-pressure metallic line nut on the power steering pump body with a fuel line wrench. Let the fluid drain into a pan. Remove the reservoir cap and use a used turkey baster to suck out all of the power steering fluid. Clean the inside of the reservoir with a rag wrapped around a screwdriver.
Reconnect the rubber low-pressure side hose and tighten the clamp with a slot screwdriver. Screw the metallic line nut on by hand and finish tightening it with a fuel line wrench. Fill the reservoir with new (manufacturer's recommended) power steering fluid to the top mark. Start the engine and listen for noise.
Test the tension and condition of the serpentine belt, or the individual power steering belt. The belt should not be cracked or contaminated with oil or power steering fluid. Clean the belt with alcohol. Adjust the (individual) belt for tension, using an end wrench to loosen the adjusting bolt, and a socket and wrench to slightly loosen the pump mounting bolts. Pry the pump outward with a screwdriver to tighten the slack in the belt. Tighten the adjusting bolt with an end wrench. Tighten the mounting bolts with a socket and wrench.

Brake System Flush and Power Steering System Flush

I doubt Nissan has a set recommendation for either one.
Generally both systems are sealed and the fluid should last for the life of the car. You could flush each system every 50k if you think there is a chance they could become contaminated.

How to remove my power steering pump

hope this one help http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/maintenance/3322636
This instructable is designed into four main parts. Here's the outline:

1) Gather the materials
-- Instructable step 1 - This includes tools, a new pump, fluids, etc.
2) Remove the leaking pump
-- Instructable step 2 - Drain the Power Steering system
-- Instructable step 3 - Remove accessories from Power Steering system
-- Instructable step 4 - Remove the pulley and bolts
-- Instructable step 5 - Remove power steering pump
3) Install the new pump
-- Instructable step 6 - Place the new power steering pump
-- Instructable step 7 - Press on the power steering pump pulley
-- Instructable step 8 - Align the pulley and attach the belts
-- Instructable step 9 - Flush and fill the power steering system
4) Cleanup
-- Instructable step 10 - Cleanup

You'll need some tools to complete this task. Before you start, gather the necessary equipment -- you will not be able to use the car once you start the replacement! It is always a good idea to have a friend on call, or a second car available.

Equipment list:

  • Power Steering pump (to replace defective pump)
  • Two (2) quarts power steering fluid or appropriate ATF (to flush and fill). More than 2 quarts if flushing the rack is desired.
  • Power Steering Pulley Puller set (to remove and attach the pulley). Some auto parts stores will loan the tool sets.
  • Socket set.
  • Open end wrench set (for use with puller set).
  • Leverage pipe or extension bar (in case the pulley is hardened on the spindle).
  • Drain pan (to drain & flush power steering system).
  • Wheel bearing grease for sliding pulley on the pump hub.
  • 2' wood 1x2 for assistance with aligning the pulleys. Any straight tool will work fine -- a level, metal rod, wood, whatever.

Power steering pump making noise when turning fluid is good

Usually that happens if the vanes inside the pump are worn out. Be careful when replacing it as if you find any metal in there (fine metal flakes in fluid) you will need to flush the system to prevent the steering rack from damage. If you still find metal after a flush, you can put a filter in the line to get the remainder out. Don't panic if the new one is noisy... often they are 'till they run for about an hour.

I have a 2002 honda odyssey that the ac is not working. It blows hot air instead of cold.

Hello,

There are 4 main issues to the AC on a car (not including wiring or more advanced troubleshooting)

1 Recharge (Cheap do it your self Recharge kit from auto shop)

2 The belt that it drives it (Least expensive Replace Belt)

3 The clutch on the compressor (Expensive because you have to puge the system R/R the compressor check the evaporator for damge repressurize system and test.

4 The compressor went bad (Most expensive Usually when a compressor fails it will send metal shavings throughout the system that will cause the system to fail again the soulation is the same as 3 but now you need to replace the evaporator and flush all the AC lines out.
