Bulb Replacement
The headlamp is a semi-sealed beam type which uses a replacable
halogen bulb. The bulb can be replaced from the engine compartment
side without removing the headlamp body.
I Grasp only the plastic base when handling the bulb. Never
touch the glass envelope.
1. Disconnect the battery cable.
2. Disconnect the harness connector from the back side of the
bulb.
3. Pull off the rubber cap.
4. Press end of the retaining pin together to release bulb.
5. Remove the headlamp bulb. Do not shake or rotate the bulb
when removing it.
6. Install the new bulb in reverse order of removal.

SOURCE: 2002 Suburban ABS System Brake Light

I have had this same problem on two difference vehicles both of which are suburbans.

The solution is simple.
Remove the engine cover.
Locate a small ground wire that is bolted to the top rear of the engine block on the passenger side.
Remove the bolt, clean surfaces and replace.

This should solve your problem.

I know it seems too easy but it works.

SOURCE: 1997 GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED BRAKE JUDDER SOMETIMES

First off.....I hate when "Someone" says "take it to a mechanic"....if he wanted to take it to a mechanic he would. Maybe he doesn't want to be screwed. Search around at jeepforum.com you'll find some info instead of lame opinions like take it to dealer etc....

Hi, My 1992 Ford Fairmont EB has recently developed a nasty brake judder, most noticeable at open road speeds, and it can be felt in the pedal and the steering wheel. I have removed the front wheels and...

hi.

if you do not have any juddering when you are not braking, then it sounds like you either have a slightly warped disk, or an internal fault in the ABS unit.

the most likely is a warped disk, the warp may not even be visible (my last one wasn't) but can still cause a nasty judder. take the disks off and get them measured properly at machine shop.
if they are ok, then the ABS system will need to be checked by a qualified mechanic with the specialist equipment needed to test the system. the system is NOT user servicable. unfortunately this would not be something you can do yourself.

i would recommend getting this problem sorted out as soon as possible, as any braking system fault carries the risk of brake failure.

hope this helps.

Can i disconect the brake hoses off the nissan terrano alternator or just disconect all the hoses off the back of the alternator and connect them with no problems???

Some (most) Terranos have a vacuum pump attached to the back of the altinater. There should be no problem disconnecting these lines, as they don't contain brake fluid, they only supply vacuum for the brake master cylinder assist servo.

Brake juddering, failure: ABS or master cylinder, or anything els

i would say have your abs system bled. this only requires a computer and someone who knows how to use it. after bleeding the abs then the rest of the system should be bled. if you had a bad secer it would set what is known as a hard code and the light would always stay on.

Suzuki Grand Vitara 1999:

Going by your description I think it could be something different, I would have the brake master cylinder checked, if you are suffering brake failure and shuddering it sounds like your callipers arent getting equal pressure when you apply the brakes. Or a freat lack of pressure to suffer brake failure. I hope this helps.

2001 S Type Jaguar ABS and Traction Control fault lights on

Hi First I suggest that you get a diagonostic check on ABS system. and then a visual inspection of the brakes. Warped brake rotors do not make noice, but the steering will start to judder when brakes applied at around speeds from 40 up . Possible cause that the vehile picked up something from road such as nylon/ plastic/stone Mike

Did you get the rotors machined to specs or just change the pads.If not machined suggest you get them checked to see wether they should have been. This affects ABS equipped vehicles more severely
