First most GM OEM systems will need to recognize the key first and foremost ,to do that you will need to roll window down on driver door, turn the key to the run position and with engine NOT running leave the key on for 10 minutes exactly ..then turn ignition off then try to start engine. if original system is working engine should start normally

There are several configurations of the same security system. But one sure fire way to correct this issue is to get a bypass kit. Any shop that installs remote startups has the ability to bypass this system. Since the sytem measures the resitance of the key/lock and asociated wiring any shorting of those wires will make it very difficult to defaet without some expertise.
Sometimes the remote atart kit also includes the bypass, so you can get two for one here.

With the doors shut, insert the key into the drivers door lock. Lock and unlock the door 5 times. This should reset the system. If that doesn't work you should contact a qualified repair shop.

there are two buttons on the diagram panel screen, push and hold top button and a one of the entries will start to blink, then you use the bottom button to change the entry, when you are ready to move to the next entry push the top button again.

there is a way to bypass the system we do it often but you will need to buy a data bypass unit to install in order to bypass the passlock sensor in the dash. Once the unit is installed, it is turned on by inserting the key into ignition, then the unit will send the proper code to the BCM allowing it to unlock the ECM and then car will start.
