Question about 2009 Hyundai Sonata

How can I clean under a car seat that milk was spilled on?

I cleaned it last summer and it seemed fine but this summer brings a sour smell. I took the seat out and it really smells underneath and is mildew. It is not just fabric and wonder if it can be cleaned.

You might want to try a detailing shop. They have commercial products for just such a problem.
If the spill was in the fabric where a person would sit, it is in the foam padding too. And could have run down into the seams.
Nature's Miracle which is available at pet stores, or lemon juice and water will help cut the smell that remains.

Yes, you must as this burnt oil may have lost its vicinity and reduce that of the original oil already in the system. In an emergency it is fine to make up thelevel but must be changed soonest .

Coolant smells like fuel, i think you need to find a new mechanic, obviously there is a problem around the fuel tank, does it do it all the time, what about when tank is half??? I would be checking the fuel tank breather, fill fuel right up to the top, go on a bumpy road or just do a sharp left and right (safe speed) and have a look underneath where the tank is to see if there are any wet patches, if there is a leak then you have found the problem, just need to find where the leak is. If there is no leak than i would deffinately have the breather checked out, one other thing to check would be your fuel filler cap, either way this problem should not be there and be fixed by Hyundai, it is a serious health problem!!!

SOURCE: Gas is leaking up into

hazard situation, seems your fuel pump lines have corroed or a hose pressure hose develop a pin hole o cracked. take off your rear seat and inspect pump hardware. Other option is if any one try to install audio system in your car and happen to drill through your gas tank. good luck

Anyone know how to permanently remove odors from car/van seats/carpets. what has worked for you? please advise.

good question,
i hand one really bad seat, (milk spelt by PO)
i even remove the cushion and cover. ran cover thru washer mach.
and the seat i put in a huge tube outside,
i soaked it in TIDE. hot water.
then when done , rinse
i used that chem called, dog/cat pee enzyme remover.
this attacks the proteins in the milk.

but really ,it does matter the cause of odors, infinite.
and the solution (no pun)
also barcarb soad soaks.
lye always works but kills plastic.

my last rinse was with PineSol (pine oil)
then let it bake dry on the roof of home, in hot summer sun.
i solved mine, but took hard work,
but was paid back on resale, no funny nose sniffs, by buyers.
sold car for more than paid , after 6 years. (mx5)

INK STAIN FABRIC REMOVAL NO PROBLEM

This is a quick and easy way to save you a lot of time and money if you have ever had a dissasterous ink spill on a velour type durable fabric, such as what I experienced in a car Dealership years ago, my new car get ready man sat in a brand new vehicle that had velour seats and forgot he had a pen in his back pocket, when he sat down in the cars seat the pen opened up staining the seat and his uniform real bad!!
Here is what I did.....
we got a lot of plain clean white cotton rags, and a couple of aerosol, cans of "Brake Cleaner" any brand that is the cheapest in price, spray the affected area and blot with a clean rag, use this proceedure over and over until you start to see the stain lifting out off the seat fabric, you know hwen you are done as the last blotting will result in a clean white rag and an impeccably cleaned seat fabric, the only thing that is left behind is a smell from the brake cleaner, let the car air out using a fan and all doors/windows open and after the seat drys use a scented spray on the repaired area, that will not restain the seat cushion again.
The smell will be gone after a couple of days and a little venting of the interior. $10.00 of aerosol cans and white rags versus a t least a couple of hundred dollars in an ordered replacement seat cushion, plus labor.
Have Fun!!!

A/C works intermittently. It blows ice cold for a few minutes, then blows hot for several minutes before blowing cold again. Refrigerant level is not low and have already replaced low-pressure switch. No...

I had a problem on my 99 with the intermittent cold, it also had a sour smell occasionally. I did like you and checked everything - freon level, other basic troubleshooting. I took it to an AC guy and he said the clutch gap needed to be adjusted, how and where this is, I have no idea. All I know is that he adjusted it, charged me $100 and it's been working fine ever since.
Hope this helps - summer is coming!

How do I remove the back seat of my 2009 pontiac vibe? I spilt milk and it went down between the seats and I know it will smell if I don;t get it cleaned properly.

move front seats forward.grasp seat cushion under front[where your heels would be if seated] and lift to release seat from 'clips' underneath.pull seat towards you to remove.push it back in firmly before pushing down to 're-clip'.

Spilled milk under the rear seats in my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL.

its not hard, the seats are meant to be removed fairly easily, there are two latches under the seat about a foot in from each edge that have to be released (i think you just reach up under and then its just like a trunk or glove box latch, then push back on the seat and lift up on the front and it should pull out.

Bad smell after replacing heater and evaporator

It sounds like your A/C drain is blocked and mildew is building up this is a common occuance during the summer. Most Dealerships have a chenical that you spray into your heater case that will remove this oder.

Is it on the seat/carpet? If so you might have to remove it and pressure wash it. if you can clean it off and remove smell with carpet/upholstery cleaners or put some coffee grounds and let it soak up for a day or so then vaccum it up
