1996 cadillac deville I by passed heater coil but water is coming from somewhere else and is running on floor it's not heater coil and what ever it is its draining my radiator so car over heated

To by pass the heater coil, you must connect the two hoses going into the heater coil. Did you do this? or did you just plug one hose line? best to replace heater coil if it is leaking to get heat working in winter.

Heater not getting warm

The first thing I would check would be the valve that feeds the coil. Is it opening when you turn the heat on? Also, I had this problem in an old car of mine and it turned out to be a clogged hose feeding the heater coil.

My heater doesn't work on my 06 buick rainier

A few things to check would be your fuse, refer to your manual to see which fuse controls the heater and if your fuse is good your heater coils for your heater might be burnt out. Or maybe just a loose connection to the heater coil.

No heat in car

Check low antifreeze level--- Replace thermostat-- heater coil plugged, check for flow through heater coil, heater coil outside plugged no air flow replace air filter in dash and clean outside of heater coil if you have very low air movement to defrosters--- try this last thing first --- cheapest things first ,

My radiator started leaking and my mechanic said that he replaced the heater coil. What is a heater coil and would it cause my radiator to leak?

Your heater coil is most often located in your vehicle's firewall. To find it, locate your water pump on your engine block and follow the water hoses back to the firewall. Where these hoses end you will find your heater core. To answer your question, no, your heater coil will not cause your radiator to leak. They are two separate units.

Believe my heater coil went out. then i blew a head gasket, is this related. how often do the heater coils go out.. heard that fords heater coils go out.. needed to know if its worth my time to fix.

do you mean heater core if so it can be a chore to replace dash board and air housing disassembled you can buy a electric heater that will plug into lighter socket if the heater is leaking coolant the head gaskets can cause damage if motor over heats

No heat

There should be a thermal coil in it. I know that mid 90's dodge trucks had it mounted under a cover in the engine compartment by where the heater coil on the passenger side. It's about 2 to 3 inches long. Check on that it actually regulates the heat from your heater. Also check for any antifreeze leaks or sweet smell from your heater, this will be the first signs of it being the heater coil.
