Like to locate fuel switch engine turns not getting gas

Oh, Hi David it's either fuel or spark... To check for spark just pull a spark plug lead off a spark plug and plug the spark plug lead onto a SPARE spark plug, Now earth it to the CLEAN motor or body (make sure the spark plug is touching metal) Turn the motor over using the ignition, If the spark plug doesn't spark then it could be coil... If it's sparking then you have a fuel problem, The fuel pump is usually in the fuel tank BUT I have no idea about the year, make or model number your car is....CHEERS..

2000 mazda protege 1.6L my spark plugs are getting soaked with gas

bad fuel injectors. bad spark plugs - inspect and or replace -- bad spark plug wires - test ohms resistance of the spark plug wires with a multi meter (5 bucks at harbor freight) -- or simply replace the spark plug wires.
How was it you tested the coil and spark at the plugs?

I'd lean more towads faulty fuel injection, if you go to repai this, please be sure to add a quality fuel tank cleaner like lucas (the larger the bottle the less the cost per ounce - and works VERY well), You may also want to be sure to replace the fuel filter...
Best regards

I have a 92 accord dx dat seem like it is not gettn fuel or spark. What are some solutions?

Use a spark tester to check for spark, pull off a plug wire from a spark plug and plug the spark tester or spark plug into the wire and ground it on the motor somewhere not near any fuel lines. while somebody cranks the motor watch the plug and see if there is spark, if not you have an ignition problem. If you have spark, remove a fuel line from after the fuel filter and get a small cup or something for the fuel to go into, and hold the line in the cup and have somebody crank it over and see if you get fuel.If not you have a fuel system problem.

When i start my 2001 kia optima my car putters. i changed my bad o2 sensors. but not sure what the problem is. and when i drive sometimes it jerks. what could the problem be

The spark and fuel system needs to be inspected.--------- The spark plugs are getting fouled or very loose, can cause sputtering problem.Inspect the spark plugs and coil packs. The spark plugs gets power from coil pack.If the spark plugs are very old and dirty, then it needs to be replaced.--------------- The **** problem also relates to faulty worn out spark plugs or clogged fuel filter or low fuel pressure or problem with ignition coil pack.----------- When coil pack stops giving power to spark plug the car will **** while driving.---------- So very first thing you get tested is spark plugs and ignition coil packs. If they are tested good, but looks very dirty/ worn out, that can also be the reason.----------- But if spark plugs and ignition coil tested ok and cleaned properly, but still same problem, then get fuel pressure tested. If fuel pressure is low, the fuel pump and fuel filter are the cause of problem.----------- ------------------ Also one more thing, " IS there check engine light coming ON dash" ? If yes, then get the car scanned at autozone service center. Its absolutely free to get car scanned at autozone. They do it for no charge.------- In scanning you will get error codes, as per error codes, it will point towards faulty part, causing this sputtering and jerking problem.----------------- But if there is no check engine light ion dash, then get the above mentioned possibilities checked. That will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Not getting any spark or fuel pressure

If there is no fuel pressure then its not getting fuel.If its not getting fuel, then getting spark is rare/.-------- So the problem relates to faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter.------- It is possible that the fuel filter is clogged. If you're real careful you can inject a small amount of fuel in the air intake and see if the engine fires. (you can also spray starter fluid in the air-intake) If it does, you know you have a fuel issue; if it does not it could be an ignition issue. The air-intake is the best place to inject the fuel. ---------- Get the voltage checked at spark plugs and also check the coils. The spark plugs gets power to spark from coil pack.If the coils are faulty, the spark plugs will not spark. If coil is checked ok, then problem is spark plugs itself, causing the problem.--------- It has to be replaced. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Hi my jag xjr 4lrt wont start it has fuel supply it has a sprak it turns over but will not start any ideas ive been told it may be the imobiliser

It takes three things to make an engine run. Fuel, spark and air. If you have fuel and spark at the cylinder, there's no reason it should not start. One or the other is missing. The only way to tell if the fuel and spark are reaching the cylinder is to pull a spark plug. Try to start the engine then pull a plug. If you are getting fuel, the spark plug will be wet and smell of gasoline. If it's dry, no fuel is reaching the cylinder. Put the plug wire back on the spark plug and lay the plug down where you can observe it while cranking the starter. If you are getting spark, yo will see the voltage arc across the tip of the spark plug. Perform this test and find out which one is missing and then you can trace down the problem.

Turns over but won;t start

Hello, well there are only 2 things that make any engine run...fuel and spark.. #1. to check if your getting spark you want to use a pair of pliers with rubber grips( if not you will get shocked ) then pull one of the spark plug wires off the plug (and if you have an old spark plug laying around you can put it on that wire turn engine over and see if you get a spark.) and holding it a 1/4" inch away from plug(or any metal surface of frame) have someone else turn engine over and see if your getting any spark?( its easier to see spark at night.) #2. if you have spark, then its in the fuel system.( will be your fuel pump, fuel pump relay, clogged fuel filter, ect.) if you dont have spark,it will more than likely be your ignition coil... good luck...yz-maniac.

2001 Saab 95SE V6, will start, will not re start, wait 30 minutes, will start, is it an electrical problem, a relay, battery is good.

It could very well be a relay. You can test those with an ohmmeter. Are you not getting spark plug fire or not getting fuel pressure? You can remove one plug, place back on the plug wire, turn motor over and observe for spark. The end of the spark plug should be resting on a metal surface so you can see if a spark jumps from plug to metal surface. If you have spark you likely aren't getting fuel. You can place a rag over the fuel test port on the fuel rail after the cap is removed, then press in on the valve and see if there is fuel press. You can always get a fuel pressure tester or spark tester as well.

The 94 grand am doesn't start

One suggestion I can make to see if your car is getting spark is by purchasing an in-line spark tester from an auto parts store (not very expensive) and pulling each spark plug wire off and checking with the tester.

If you are getting spark to every wire and they all seem to be the same brightness, try replacing your spark plugs with the recommended plugs and setting the gap with a spark plug gapper.

To see if you are getting fuel to each cylinder, try to start the car a few times with the fuel pedal to the floor (for fuel injected engines) to clear a flooded engine and then pull the spark plugs out of the engine and smell them to see if you can smell fuel, if there isn't a strong scent of fuel, you may not be getting fuel and you'd probably need to take your car to a mechanic to have them check the fuel system and injectors.

I hope I could help you get started to narrow down the problem. Good luck and don't forget to rate! Thank you.
