Car stereo disconnected and my turn signals won't work?
I went into Best Buy to have my cd-player in my car worked on. Upon getting in my car without the stereo, I went to use the turn signal and get nothing. Did the people at Best Buy screw up my car?
Re: car stereo disconnected and my turn signals won't...
Your fuses could be shot, wires could be shot, could be a coincidence, could be the experts at best buy LOL best way is to get it checked by a mechanic and tell him and if he determines it was obviously something caused by best buy, have them pay your bill.

It's an internal issue, the best suggestion I have, and what I'd do as a certified technician of many years is simply buy a replacement stereo unit used from eBay or you can check with the local salvage yards and junkyards as they're full of perfectly good stereos & many other parts for a fraction of the price of any dealership! Best of Luck & Have A Great Day!
Your system stays on until you open the door. This is controlled by body control module. Peer wire to stereo remains hot until you open door. I would recommend hooking a quick simple CD player up using existing power wire which as I said remains hot after you turn off the key until you open the door. If it works and the vehicle is happy and powers the stereo then go ahead and put in a system.
Steps as follows Take a blank/useless CD (such as AOL free trial CD's, you
can get them in a plethora of amounts in Best Buy) and place it about 1
inch deep into the slot.
Press the 'Eject' button and gently wiggle the CD around.
If this doesn't work, repeat and try to get the blank CD below the the
jammed CD, and gently pry the target CD upwards. Also, a good pair of
tweezers works well to grab the CD and pull it out.
Sometimes, unusual amounts of pressure may be on the unit, behind the dash itself. Have a professional or a friend that you trust remove the dash unit and try steps #2 and #3. Reduce electrocution risk by disconnecting all power
supplies from the CD player and make sure any electrical charge has been
removed.
Try pressing repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while turning on the stereo at the same time. If that does not work disconnect battery terminal for one minute to reset the electrics and try again pressing eject repeatedly on startup. Make sure that you have the stereo anti theft code if needed before disconnecting the battery.
If that does not work, then the unit must be disassembled. The car stereo must be removed from the dash. The unit must be disassembled removing screws at back and bottom and undoing metal casing clips. That will reveal the CD drive allowing to remove the disk.
Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and try to eject the cd, if this don't work you can take the cd player to the dealer ship and they can send it to be repaired
check all fuses then check a junkyard if they have same cd plyer but it sounds as if you need a new head unit..invest in an after market stereo of your choosing (best buy)and have them take out and save your cd's...you willneed a radio removal tool to take out that unit..
New Stereo yes yours is dead but you can get a new stereo anywhere (Best Buy , Radio Shack, Auto Zone,Crutch Field,Ebay, etc.) a little advice if your not to inclined on cable instalation Crutchfield has all the wireing harness for the installation to go plug and play so you dont guestamate things i think Best Buy does aswell
Is this by any chance the original clarion (peugeot branded) stereo? If so, try disconnecting the remote control stick from the back. You may find it solves all your problems... If not, you may wish to check the earthing of your cd player. It sounds like one of the wires may be earthing, or an earth may become live when you tun the ignition on.
first of all putting in non genuine stereos usually you have wires left check the fuse in back of stereo check all your fuses under your dash and in the bonnet even if wires touched momentarely its enough to blow multiple fuses which may be your problem your wiring may be fine see how you go
