Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. SOURCE: 99 dodge intrepid. 2 codes 1490 and 1489. engine

Make sure you hear the wrrrrr of the fuel pump with the key in the run position. The pumps in the gas tank and I had to take everything out of the trunk and listen over the pump access hole in the back of the trunk. The pumps seem to only last 60000-70000 miles.

check if there is any spark also check the injector pulse. huck up a scanner and check the if there are any DTC set.

Those 2 codes are the cam and crank sensor codes I would just change the crank sensor cheap and easy to replace which could be casing other problems.

Try pressing the gas peddle down half way then let it up then start the engine . Mine will crank and fire but not start when cold but does now when I do this.
