Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. Make sure you hear the wrrrrr of the fuel pump with the key in the run position. The pumps in the gas tank and I had to take everything out of the trunk and listen over the pump access hole in the back of the trunk. The pumps seem to only last 60000-70000 miles.

As long as the 96 one looks the same as the 97 and fits properly.
