Got a Kia 2700 diesel truck, just replace the head as it overhead Was really hoping it would improve its performance but it still really struggle with up hills with no load . Any surgestions .

If not done recently, do the following:
  1. replace the fuel filters
  2. replace the air filter
If this doesn't help have the injectors "pop" tested
Do a cylinder compression test: These 2 test require specialized tools....not a DIY.

Good luck!

What is meant by overdrive

Overdrive is really an extra gear. It is normal to take the car out of overdrive when climbing hills as it has a high gearing and the car can struggle up the hill. Some older British cars had overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears effectively giving the car 6 gears operated by a lever on the steering column. Modern automatics sometimes have overdrive controlled with a button on the gear lever.
