Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Subaru liberty gx 91

Hi there, my automatic car runs fine for a few minutes (until she warms up) she then stalls, its as tho shes starving for petrol. I took her to the mechanics and they replaced the knock senor believing that was the problem. Unfortunately it wasn't and the same problem is still accruing. does anyone know what could be causing it to stall? Help would be muchly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi I have a 91 Subaru liberty 2.2L auto. I have had the spark plugs & Leads replaced and throttle body cleaned and it still idles rough and sometimes stalls when i pull up when it is in park it idles...

No way, high idle is what caused from a vacumn leak and the stalling leads me to believe it might be the IAC (Idle air control) it is expensive for your car so you might want to get carb. cleaner and try to clean it first, carbon builds up and the either are slow to work or quit working

Check the temperature sensor feeding the ECU and O2 sensor.

95 liberty also cuts out while driving

Sounds like either a catalytic converter starting to become blocked or at the other end it could be the fuel filter becoming pluged. A fuel filter will start to plug and a slow flow will starve the motor and cause it to die by not allowing the delivery of fuel to be consistant enough. Good luck and have a good day.

Car starts fine..Idle is fast...stalls after car warms up

Check for vacuum leaks. Also try cleaning the ISV.

Fuel problem

Clean battery cables. Check crank sensor, next time it will not start pour water on the sensor and if it cranks you will know what to replace.
