Hi....I just changed the front left turn signal bulb on my '02 Elantra. When I replaced the bulb and checked it before replacing the light display, it worked. After replacing display, it didn't work. Took it back out and redid it and now it seems to work fine. I am wondering if the bulb itself is supposed to "lock" into the socked somehow and I am just not getting it in right? My husband took out the bulb so I don't know if he had to twist it or not. I forced it pretty hard in both directions (while pushing down) to get it to turn but to no avail. Thanks in advance!

grab a large punch and hammer and knock out the old broken one. Push the new one in and re tighten. This will pull it into place and because it has splines it should not spin while doing so.

Then 1, bulbs are burned out
OR 2, the wiring is faulty.

With the car on ground, break loose the drive-axle nut, and the wheel nuts , than jack up the car, support it properly, remove the wheel ,remove the axle-nut.
Remove the brake caliper assembly-- support it properly.
Remove the two bolts that hold the hub bracket to the Macpherson strut assemble, remove the lower arm ball joint and remove the steering tie- rod ball-joint attached to the hub bracket. That's it.Slide off the hub /with the bracket off the drive-shaft.
Follow steps backwards to assemble back.

That's an Elantra....and I tried to lock it into the "socket." Sorry for the typos. :)
Thanks Peter...but just so I understand. I was able to lock the socket into the housing but I couldn't lock the bulb into the socket. Is that what you mean? Thanks!"
The lamp or bulbs, the larger ones push down & turn to lock into the lamp holder socket, You got the socket & wiring locking into the lamp hosing that goes onto the body The small lamps without side shell location pins just push in The little pins on the side you had to turn to lock in are for polarity eg: the correct battery feed & ground so you get them in correctly, can't go wrong
Thank you!
