SOURCE: '91 LS400, trunk will not

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

Most likley to be the micro switch in the boot quite common, u can open from inside if I remember correctly where the boot latch is in the centre the bit that keeps the boot closed on the left of the catch there is a little lever u can use a spike to open it , if it's not there there will be a little lever somewhere on the catch that opens the boot

Soft top BMW is not going up or down light is flashing the trunk doesn't open without key

It sounds like there is a faulty sensor, as your trunk is not opening without the key I would suggest its your trunk/boot sensor.
As a safety feature the cars roof will not move if the trunk/boot is open.

My 1998 bmw 528I doors won't close. The door catch is stuck

You should be able to move the door catch with your hands or a short heavy screw driver. If you use a screw driver be careful not to scratch your paint. Before trying to move the catch be sure your door is unlocked. It should flip back to the open position with a little effort.

Good Luck

KEYS LOCKED IN THE BOOT OF A BMW 320 2003 REGISTERED

Hiya, same thing happened to me with my e39 2yrs ago. Keys were stuck in boot for 2days, in the end I sussed out how to get them.......you have to take off the reg plate, then, with a pencil, drag a line from where the key goes in down to the catch where the boot actually locks. Then you drill a hole anywhere along that line, this will give you access to the bar that connects the locking mechanism, just put a long nosed pliers into the hole and pull the bar, and bingo the boot opens!

Boot will not unlock with the remote button from key fob

Yes, this is what makes the Germans so cool!

Step one, replace battery in key foob. If that doesnt work proceed to next step.

Your BMW has a central locking system overide solution.

insert your main key into the driver door. before turning the key lift the door handle as if your opening the door, then turn the key all the way clockwise....it should go further than it ever has....it should make all the door latches POP! If this doesnt work, Try it while turning the key counterclockwise.

If this doesnt work, make sure you have your radio code and take off the negative battery cable overnight on your car. Then attach it after 12 hours and repeat above steps.

This should work, this is what they will do at the dealer and charge you about $700 :-)

Central locking on bmw 318i boot won't lock after pressing lock button?

simple your mechanism on the inside of the boot(catch mech) is spring loaded.just spray copious amounts of wd40 deep inside. if that dosent work then your catch/keep is twisted.
