#5 clean fuel injectors

Posted by on

1 Answer

Fuel Injectors are cleaned by removing them
& mailing them to a place that tests them & cleans
them with Ultra Sound
Only a professional cleaning system would be the
next best thing
Never put anything in your gas tank
That is a waste of money, dilluted too
much to do anything.
One injector that has failed completely or
leaks,you can just replace it
The old ones should be cleaned but that is your choice

How do I remove and clean a fuel injector?

You have to remove the fuel rail from the engine. Then you can pull out all of the fuel injectors to clean them. Most tune-up shops offer a fuel injection cleaning service that doesn't require removal of the injectors. If your car has high mileage, you can get some extremely good deals on brand new injectors from an on-line retailer, like Amazon.

Fuel injectors

You typically don't need to remove your fuel injectors to clean them. Have you tried using a really strong fuel injector cleaning product? Also if you go to any garage, they can use a machine to clean you injectors for you, it is a lot easier and less expensive (if you screw something up) than doing it yourself.

What is the average cost to clean fuel line and injectors on a1990 jaguar xj6 ?

Clean How?

On a vehicle that old, you remove the injectors
& mail them to a place that ultrasonically cleans them

That is about $45.00 each

There is no fuel line cleaning

You could have them cleaned on the car with the
injector cleaner that is put in a container & pressurized
to at or 5 lbs above rail pressure, the pump fuse removed
& run off that mixture

Don't know what that costs. Say $100.00 or less

I have a fault 296 on my golf tdi 2008 can you please tell me a little about the fault please.

296 is not a valid code, I will assume it is a P0296, if that is not the case let me know.
Code P0296 is triggered when the Power Train Control Module (PCM) detects that the acceleration rate of the crankshaft for Cylinder #12 was less than a calibrated amount. During normal conditions the PCM turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. SymptomsPossible sumptoms of OBD code P0296
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Engine Misfire - Engine Run Rough - Low MPG CausesPossible causes of OBD code P0296
- Fuel Injector #12 - Faulty or Corroded Fuel Injector #12 Connector - Plugged #12 Fuel Injector - Dirty #12 Fuel Injector Possible Solutions- Clean Fuel Injector #12 Connector - Clean Fuel Injector #12 - Replaced Fuel Injector

The plenum shouldn't be damp with gas. Is it a throttle body fuel injection system?

Could be a leaky injector.

I keep having a problem with my fuel injectors, i now cannot get fuel through having cleaned them. help.

IF YOU FILLED FUEL TANK.POUR CAN OF SEAFOAM OR DIFFERENT INJECTOR CLEANER IN FUEL TANK. AND INJECTORS STILL NOT SPRAYING FUEL. CHECK TO MAKE SURE FUEL PUMP RUNNING.HAVE VECHICLE HOOK TO SCANNER BECAUSE YOUR PCM CONTROL FUEL PUMP AND FUEL PRESSURE TO FUEL INJECTORS.LOOK A FAULT CODE FOR FUEL PUMP OR PCM.JAGUAR IS TYPE CAR YOU NEED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO TROUBLE SHOOT THEM.IF YOU TOOK FUEL INJECTORS OUT CLEANING THEM BY HAND YOU COULD HAVE FORGOT TO RECONNECT WIRE CONNECTORS OR YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED THEM UP COMPLETELY.

How do I remove and clean the fuel injectors?

The easiest way is to put a cleaner solution in the fuel tank, this will run though the whole fuel system and clean the injectors and lines.
It may smoke a little for a few miles or so, depending on what fuel to cleaner ratio you use, but follow the makers instructions.

Need DIY instructions for cleaning the fuel injectors on a Ford F150 FX4 Triton V8

Very detailed and car specific. There are at least three ways to do it. One is to take the injectors out of the truck and use a fuel injector solvent to clean them. Another way is to use a fuel additive to clean your injectors pour in your tank and off you go (do it at every oil change) Another way is to hook your car up to a fuel injection cleaning machine. It essentially by passes your gas tank and connects directly to your injectors to clean them with your engine running.
