Can you give a bit more detail? The wire state is on/off it's not controlled by some amount of resistance

Door lock and unlock while driving ...

Some factory and aftermarket alarms lock the doors as you shift out of Park, or the car goes faster than 7-10 MPH, and unlock when shift to Park, or turn off ignition. If you have the option to cancel this option and lock the doors manually, then you know the signal input wire(s) have loose connection and are the culprits.

Car door alarm activation

Need more info. Is it an aftermarket alarm? What kind of car? If it is an aftermarket alarm, it is possible that the wiring to the alarm module could be configured wrong, making it think that someone is hot-wiring the vehicle. Or, it could be that the wires to the alarm are chaffed, and the power from the alarm is shorting to the door lock controls. If neither of those are an issue, then it could also be the settings on the alarm module itself (many aftermarket alarms are pre-programmed to lock the doors, as soon as the transmission gear selector is placed in "Drive", and if the wires are chaffed, shorted, or improperly connected, it could be that it's seeing the door pin switch, as that trans selector input). In any case, this sounds like an electrical problem for a skilled automotive electrical technician, because many of the vehicles panels may have to be removed, so that the wiring can be exposed & inspected. Without more details, I can only post a "professional opinion", rather than a "solution". I hope this helps.

Truck does not longer unlocks door when the key is turned to the off position and removed

Auto lock is the only option from the factory on the F-150. Auto unlock would be from an aftermarket RKE or remote start / alarm.

do you have an aftermarket RKE / RMST / Alarm installed ?

Bought a 1995 jeep grand cherokee orvis . it has no keeless remote, just keys.installed new battery and the security must be on.all lights inside and out are blinking.on and off. how do i reset security.

Try turning the key..unlock-lock-unlock in the rear tailgate lock. That should turn off the factory security system.
If it's an aftermarket alarm system, you will need an alarm installer's help in determining what type and model alarm it is, before you can figure out how to shut it off.

The security system wont disengage and let me start car what do i do?

This depends on if its a factory alarm or not,if its factory then try using the key to unlock the door if it doesnt work on the driverside then unlock the passenger side door this is due to a bad door lock switch on the driver door, if its aftermarket you nned to look under the dash and find the wire for the starter coming down the steering column, you will see a yellow wire i belive the wire will be cut in half and connected to two diffrent wires, cut it and connect it back together and it will start you will then need to look further for fuses on alarm wires and remove the fuses as the alarm module is bad, a good way to tell its a factory alarm is the trucks horn is the siren, if this is the case then its probably factory and door switch is bad in the lock so try pass/side lock.hope this is helpful.

Lost remote to disable alarm on 2000 mercury villager how can i disable it and start my van

If you have the factory alarm system, you can put your key into either door and lock and unlock the door, that signals the computer to deativate the alarm. If you have an aftermarket alarm system installed, it will have to be removed and the wiring that the alarm ties into must be restored to factory design.

Didn't know my 93 vw golf had an alarm, now I had to disconnect the battery to shut if off.. what do I do to fix this?

I'm not sure if you have an aftermarket or factory alarm, but try this: hook up the battery and try unlocking/locking the door with the key. If you have a remote door lock, hit unlock/lock on that. I have come across a couple of cars this was all it took to stop the alarm, never tried with a VW though. Hope it works, good luck!

Trying to install an astra 600 car alarm into a 04 dodge stratus

I called dodge local service dealer and ask the chief mech. He said the lock unlock switch had two resistors, Lock was 7200 ohms and the unlock had a 620 ohm both going to the PCU (computer) with an reduced 12 voltage supply to the CPU the CPU looks at the amount of reduced and will energize the lock or unlock Solenoid. added the resisters to each solenoid lock 7200 ohm and unlock 620 ohm on the ASTRA 600 alarm output to the CPU. works OK.
Thanks for your Interest in my problem.

Alarm

No, the factory alarm is armed and diarmed either by the power locks locking/unlocking or there will be two wires to arm/disarm the factory alarm. Depending on the specs, it may auto-arm the alarm every time the doors are all closed and locked, so you may have to get an aftermarket alarm or wire up a switch to deactivate it.
