Question about 1999 Chrysler 300M
You hooked a hot wire direct to pass. window? So, what do you mean by having to keep switching on and off, touching and removing the hot wire??
Just a thought: maybe the ground for windows is loose or poor contact. To check, the ground wire originates at the driver's master switch and goes into the cabin with the other wires, and then to nearby ground. It is probably behind the driver's side kick panel screwed to the car frame. Pull the panel off and check the ground. You could also use an ohmmeter and see how much resistance is on the wire from switch to the ground. If high resistance, some strands of the wire may have broken.
Don't know beyond that, unless the master switch is failing. Try a used one from salvage to check. That way you won't spend money on a new switch that you maybe didn't need. Good luck.

you have to replace the window regulator reason why is because the cable ripped which would cause the motor to work without moving the window up or down .. regulator is the cable and the rails were the motor makes the woindow move up and down on. you have to replace it.

SOURCE: pt cruiser power window problem
Yes I had the same problem , the battery died, and I needed to jump start the car.
When I went to open the windows the windows where not working and the power top would not come down. The smart windows got a glitch, no you may not need to go to the dealer for them to reset it.
This is what I did with some experimenting.
1) First charge your battery in the car,
2) disconnect the battery lead to the battery
3) while waiting 5 minutes clean your terminals on battery
4) check your fluids, tire pressure and filter Just for the heck of it
5) reconnect terminals on your battery
6) get in car and gently close the door, the window as you know will be up to high, but this will trick your smart windows to think its in normal position with the door close
7) start your car and hopefully it as booted up to normal.
I did find the first time I did disconnect the battery for a few seconds , this did not work,
it did not clear the memory out of the system.
The other thing was the when I waited 5 minutes the radio station memory was not lost.
Don't rush it,
Good luck and please give me some feed back.

you can test the voltage that comes out of the switch, if no voltage, then switch is bad. If there is 12 volts coming out then the motor is bad or dirty.
