Multifunction switch located in a/c system

A/C fuse blows when the a/c system is turned on.Could this be multi-switch issue?

I'm showing two fuses for the controller, but the fuse marked ac should be just for the compressor clutch. Not to say the controller is not the problem, but chances are its the ac clutch.

Principles of Operation
The headlamp switch is supplied power at all times from the smart junction box (SJB). When the headlamps switch is placed in the headlamps ON position, power is routed to the multifunction switch. Depending on the position of the multifunction switch, power is routed through one of two circuits to the SJB. If the multifunction switch is in the high beam position, power is routed through SJB fuse 12 (15A) and then on to the high beam headlamps. If the multifunction switch is in the low beam position, power is routed through SJB fuses 11 (10A) and 15 (10A) to the LH and RH headlamps, respectively. Power to the multifunction switch is available at all times for the flash-to-pass feature.

Is there B+ voltage at fuse's # 11 & 15 with headlamps on an the multifunction switch is in the low beam position ? If not check for B+ voltage at the multifunction switch . There is an issue, you have a dead short in the circuit, no quick fix for this. You must first get a wiring diagram of the entire circuit and then follow it until you locate the shorted wire or component.

My turn signals don't always work and the flasher warning doesn't seem to work. I have replaced the multi-function turn signal switch and the problem continues. Any suggestions what is wrong?

With intermittent issues, you have to test when problem is ongoing. These issues can be a pain to track.
There is a hazard switch separate from the multifunction switch. There are separate turn signal and hazard fuses, not only check the fuses, check the fuse circuit for voltage. Use a testlight to check voltage.
Use a wiring diagram, check proper color voltage wires to and from hazard switch, to and from turn switch when problem is ongoing. I can only help you with testing.

When you had the wiring loose for multifunction switch, if possible, knowing what color wire did what, using wiring diagram, I believe you could have used jumper wire to bypass multifunction switch to see if this or that system would work, if it doesn't, the multifunction switch probably wasn't the problem. On older vehicles it was probably easier to do something like that. Could be issue with wiring in steering column or clock spring, where applicable.Your low beam from dimmer switch goes through drl relay, with relay not energized. At the low beam head lamp, tan wire is voltage, black wire is ground.

When i put my 2002 f250 powerstroke in reverse the radio shuts off

There was known concerns with the multifunction switch on the steering column that would blow the fuse fir tail lights, turn signals, and hazard lights.could be feeding back and shutting off radio also.I personally had this problem with the tail light fuse blowing.I use my truck to plow and it sees a lot of shifting, mine is an 05 so wiring diagrams are different, but this could be your problem. Easy diag, remove steering column cover and unplug multi function switch, directional switch, and see if concern stops...

Repeatedly blows fuse to dash lights and tail lights. I have replaced the multifunction switch and the 20 pin plug to the mfs.

I chose an SE model but all models should be basically the same. If the fuse does not blow with the headlamp switch off, that could mean there is a short somewhere on the BLK/YEL wire. Check pin 9 for a short. The BLK/YEL wire feeds the instrument cluster, the remote keyless entry module, the marker lamps, the park lamp filaments, and the license lamp. Try removing all rear lamps to eliminate them as a source of the short. If you can disconnect the cluster and the remote keyless entry module, check them. If no short is found, turn on the park lamps and reconnect/reinstall items until you find what's wrong.

Where is the multi-function switch on a 1987 ford

the multifunction switch is the same thing as the turn signal switch on the steering column, it does more than just operate the turns so hence the name MULTIFUNCTION.

My third light is working but brakes lights are not...i was told if switching the flashers on and off could knock possible dust off the circuits that could be making the problem happening

check the turn signal switch. The right and left brake lights go through that switch. you might need to repair it or replace it. does the signal lights work?
