Tough to say until you find the source of the leak. Chances are its a hose but it could be the intake gasket.

Sounds like a basic vac leak.
You should be able to take a piece of heater hose or the hose from a vac cleaner and listen around the engine compartment for the leak.

I have a 2005 Pontiac that makes a hissing noise underneath the car. you can turn the car ignition on without fully starting car and it still makes hissing noise then stops.HELP!!!!!

There is a distinct sound that has a hissing component when you first turn on the key. It will last a second or two when the key is turned to the run position. When the engine started the sound will return and continue to produce the noise so long as the engine is running.

A relatively low noise is normal. If you are concerned check other like cars for the loudness level.

how to check your fuel pump

The pressure regulator on the fuel rail can also produce a sound when the fuel pump is running. The regulator is under the hood and any reasonable noise would not be a concern, A clicking sound is also normal throughout the fuel system when the engine is running created by the fuel injectors cycling.

2002 nissan altima it sputters like the exhaust is pinched and when coming to stop feels like it is gonna stall and check engine light blinking

The Cat Converter mat be almost blocked ,this can cause this fault. To Check place your hand close to the tail pipe end, a blocked exhaust will make a hissing sound and a continuous pressure will be felt. On a good system you will feel a short pulse as each cylinder fires. The Hiss and pressure will increase with engine speed on a blocked system

I have a 2001 nissan altima and sometimes my car wont go over 60mph would that b gas filter issue or mass air flow sensor

If the gas filter is due, I would replace it as a matter of course. The mass air flow sensor is a possibility...try leaving the mass air flow sensor wire harness unplugged to see if the car runs better. If it does, probably it is bad. However, I would also check the exhaust for a restriction (eg. cat converter could be plugging up), one way to check that is to hook a vacuum gauge to the engine to see if you get normal values. (vacuum should hold steady @ about 20 Hg with engine at 2500-3000 RPM, with no fluttering or drop-off). Also, ensure that all your vacuum hoses are good, and that there are no vacuum leaks (leaks will make a hissing noise).

Noise running altima 2003

Sounds like you may have a wheel bearing issue based on your description. Could also be a backing plate contacting the brake rotor, but that would be a higher sounding "tinny" noise. This should be easy to determine. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and check each wheel while spinning by hand for the noise.

RE: 2001 Nissan Altima air conditioner

Sounds to me like you need the alternator idler pulley. Look at it and see if it has a big washer covering portion of the pulley, or if the washer is inside the pulley. If its inside, than you have an old pulley. Replace it with the one, that has the big washer in the middle of pulley. You do have another idler for the A/C compressor. Those I have seen fail also. But 80% of the time its the alternator idler pulley.
