It would depend on the truck and where you live.
The fuel pump assembly can run between $50 and $500 depending on where you buy it, and you have to drop the gas tank to get to it.

Closed loop fuel shut down

I thinking you're right. The ECU controls everything concerning the Engine. I had to replace mine in my 1985 B944. They aren't cheap!
Cost approx. $500.00! But... I would check with your local Porsche dealer/mechanic before replacing it! Also... if the fuel injectors are clogged, or the fuel pump is bad... you may get the same problem.

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3 4 wheel drive. It stalled and would not start again. The garage said the fuel pump and fuel regulator first , hen they replaced that they now say its the spider assembly on...

The spider is one injector that supplies six small lines going to the cylinders instead of having one injector for each cylinder.
I would ask for a partial refund for parts and/or labor on the fuel pump job if that did not fix the problem. They should apply some or most of that cost to the cost of replacing the injector assembly if they diagnosed the problem as being the pump first.

Fuel pump is bad. How much to replace?

It depends where you get the pump and where you take it to have it done if you're not doing it yourself. The pump could cost anywhere from $150 - $550. If you take it into a shop to have it done, they could charge you 4 - 8 hours of labor so depending on their labor rate, labor alone could cost you $240 - $800. The gas tank has to be removed in order to replace the pump, that's why the labor would be so high. These cars have a fuel pump fuse and relay so I would definitely spend a little time to check those first before you spend a lot of money replacing the fuel pump itself.

Good Luck!

Cost of replacing fuel pump

Since this vehicle, (1994 Plymouth Voyager), is fuel injected, the fule pump assembly is located within the fuel tank. Replacement cost will vary, depending on your ability to lower the fuel tank and replace the part yourself. The fuel pump assembly ranges in price, from $95, to $140, depending on where you purchase it. The particular parts suppliers I use on a regular basis have listings for the fuel pump assembly, so finding a replacement part won't be hard at all. Though I haven't replaced a fuel pump in this exact vehicle, typically chrysler/plymouth/dodge, vehicles don't require any special tools to disconnect fuel lines, electrical connecters, and remove assembly from tank. Note: if you do this yourself, do NOT, cross-thread the pump locking ring, if it is a screw on type, as this WILL result in fuel leakage! If you have to have a repair facility do this work, I would estimate about 200 dollars in labor charges, (that's what I'd charge a customer in my shop) So, you should be looking at no more than $350, to $400 max with part and labor.

Fuel tank removal of mr2 mark 2 2.0ltr 16v

The fuel pump access plate is behind the dash on the top of the tunnel just underneath the radio. If you are not knowledgeable about working around fuel I suggest you allow someone else to have the honor of replacing it.
Quotes will vary from shop to shop. Mine is $200 + Pump. Some more, some less... However; it may not be the pump as it could easily be a bad relay or a bad distributor. "both of which handle the power signal for the fuel pump" Let a shop look at it before you get into replacing things.
