Honda accord 95 model, just cut out while driving and the ignition lights went out and the dials all went to zero. When I got it home I realized the ignition lights won't come on untill you turn the key passed the point they usually come on and to the position just before the starter should engage, then all the lights come on as normal and I can hear the fuel pump aswell But the when you turn the last bit the engine will start but when you let go of the key it cuts out. I have no idea what the problem is and am looking for some help, any would be appreciated. Thanks

Fuel pump is most likely the cause. Probably just barely making the required pressure to start. Needs to maintain 60-66 psi while cranking to start.

Hi You need to get the ecu checked for fault codes if there are none it is possibly low fuel pressure you should allso check this have you changed the fuel filter or opened any fuel lines this could introduce air

SOURCE: Trouble starting

It is probably the ECU / ECM. I had the same problem. Replaced everything and that last. Of course thats what it was. You can pick one up on Ebay- the company name is ECUEXCHANGE. They offer a warranty. The only place I found and they had the best price. Though they are rebuilds. Good Luck!

SOURCE: where is the starter relay on a 94 Honda Accord

Yes, it sounds like your solenoid is bad and staying engaged against the flywheel, you could do an amperage draw and a voltage drop test to find out for sure, but you will need an DVOM and a amp clamp. Or you could take it into an auto parts store and they will test it for free. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: engine wont start help please!!!!!

you have tripped the inertia switch, (there to cut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision), you need to reset the switch by simply pressing it back in.

D4 LIGHT WAS FLASHING...SO I TOOK MY 93 HONDA ACCORD TO THE DEALER. THEY PERFORMED A MULTI-POINT INSPECTION AND FINALLY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT, DID A COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE AND...

When our speedometer and odometer went out it in our 94 honda accord it was due to our vehicle speed sensor being bad... once we replaced it with a new one, everything worked fine. I'm not sure about the rpm indicator though because that wasn't affected in ours... I hope this helps

95 honda accord cuts off while running

There are commom problems with the wiring harness that connect to the back side of the ignition housing. Tend to short inside the plastic housings. Take the scrowd off. 2 screws hold it on the ignition housing...it;s round and the wiring runs down the column . remove the 2 screws and disconnect the wiring harness under the dash. go to dealership around 50.00. post response if this helps.

My accord dies while driving like an elec. problem ,then restarts sometimes after many trys .main relay just replaced.

notice when this happens if : 1. Your speedometer and tach drop to zero while your vehicle is in motion. 2. Some warning lights not lit when the engine dies. If any of these happens, its your ignition switch. Try starting your vehicle in the park position and wiggle/shake the keys usually the car dies. The ignition switches on honda/acura vehicles from 97-02 encounter significant arch on its internal electrical contacts due defects. When this happens, power to vital engine/vehicle electrical components fluctuate or fail resulting in intermitted stalling and hard start. Typically this happens more often in hotter weather. There is a recall dated in 2002 owners were notified, but many vehicles were not repaired, call your local honda dealer or honda USA with your VIN# at hand for possible schedule for a free repair. If they will not repair, the part is usually $45-$95....Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

To clarify the problem with the 1998 honda civic there are no trouble codes. I just change the exh manifold and catyltic converter it is running and has cut out on me twice since then. This clarification...

is your engine cutting out while driving?? When it happens again notice if 1.Your speedometer goes to zero while in motion?? 2. If Some warning indicators lights aren't lit?? If yes, it's the ignition switch. Ignition switches on Hondas made from 97-02 encounter ignition switch failure. A recall was implimented in 2002. Ignition switch internal contacts severely arch or short causing intermitted power loss to vital engine electrical components. In this case causing the motor to intermittedly shut off while cruising. Call your local Honda dealer with your VIN# at hand for info on this. Possiblly they will replace this, if not they range from $45-$95....Hopefuly this tip helps

Car will cut off while driving or have problems restarting

Sounds like an ignition switch failure(i just worked on a 2000 accord with the same problem). The metal contacts within the ignition switch that provide power to vital electrical components are worn. This may cause your vehicle to stall while driving, and progress in hotter weather. Try shaking your Key while the engine is on and the vehicle is parked(usually it shuts off)....You may notice the speedometer to drop to zero when your vehicle stalls while moving. Replace the switch they range from $49-$95 from Advance auto or Autozone or call your local honda dealer (there is a recall on this and over 1.3 million vehicles are affected from years 97-02) Hopefully this helps!!

95 honda accord V6 tachometer jumping and cutting out.

I had the same problem with my 1995 Honda Accord V6 2.7L a year ago. It was a pain to have Honda diagnose the problem because it was intermittent and every time I took my car in to the dealership they said they couldn't reproduce the problem, but the longer you wait the more frequently your tachometer will fluctuate. I finally stopped by the dealership when the tachometer was jumping and they were able to diagnose the problem. In my case there was a faulty resistor in the ignition coil, but the entire ignition coil needs to be replaced. I don't know anything about cars but I know this fixed my problem. I went directly though Honda's service center so I know they charged me more than an independent repair shop but I'm looking at my invoice now and I paid $150 for the ignition coil and $200 for labor. After Honda diagnosed the problem I searched for "1995 honda accord ignition coil tachometer" and found that other people had the same problem and replacing the ignition coil was the fix. Hope this helps.
