Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
Make sure that the fan is on as well as the ac switch. There are other switches that turn the compressor clutch off when something goes wrong. There is a high head pressure switch that turns off if there is excessive pressure generated from blockage or excess gas and another switch that closes of when there is insufficient gas in the system. Have a ac mechanic check the system for leaks as that is the most common problem.
