Question about Cars & Trucks
I have Volkswagen Passat 2003. Looks like car battery went down completely this even and jump start did not help to start the car. I had to call insurance to start the car with booster battery. When I drove the car back to home, after two miles, suddenly the power in the car shut off completely and I felt like steering wheel and breaks are locked up. I had to use hand break to stop the car. After stopping the care I cannot rotate the steering wheel and break looked very harder. May i know the reason for this issue?

Could be a number of things. A lot of times the ABS sensors at the wheels get dirty. This is due to them being magnetic and a lot of brake pads are semi metallic so the dust sticks to the sensors and makes them fuction a little weird. Have someone clean the sensors. I try to pressure wash them everytime I wash the car. Hope this helps.

i would check front and rear brakes if rears are drum brakes i would inspect springs and hardware making sure everthing is conected and in place also make sure they are adjusted properly in the front and if rear disc i would make sure to grease caliper slides these allow caliper to move and its important that all moving brake parts are free push caliper pistons in alittle to see if they are sized or not booster is ok and most of the time when master goes it will leak where it meets booster and you will have a low brake pedal or no brakes

SOURCE: Had timing belt replaced at shop with 195000 miles. Drove 100 miles highway 70mph drove perfect then engine lost powe and shut down. Towed back to shop timing belt did not break for lifters blown an
they set the timing WRONG and that is an interference motor so the valves hit the pistons

I it is usually the brake shoe adjusters at the rear.
Auto adjust type:
To adjust them you can hold your foot hard down on the brake pedal and wrech up the park brake lever a few times
Drums off and wind the adjuster cog to increase the diametre of the shoes, don't get carried away thow or the drum wont go back on
