Question about Cars & Trucks
I would need to listen to the "clicking" noise before I could even begin to help with that. As far as a high idle at start up, in many cases on a Ford if you have that problem you may have a vacuum leak. Your computer corrects the problem after start up so the vehicle runs correctly. Is your check engine light on ? Most cases, a vacuum leak will cause it to come on but would need the code to be sure. Now finally the A/C only working on high would mean that you most likely have a bad blower motor resistor. Very common symptom for a bad resistor. Could be the switch but doubt it. Hope this helps....

My wife had a 93 ford tempo 4 cylinder with same problem. It turned out to be the idle air solenoid mounted on the air intake manifold.

This sounds like the TPS. Thottle Position Sensor. This controls the idle. Your local Advance Auto Parts should have this part. It should not be that expensive.
