90000 mile maintenance

I'd recommend replacing the following:
automatic transmission fluid,
coolant/flush system (preventative so radiator doesn't corrode),
engine drive belt (if wear, fraying or cracking)
in-cabin microfilter & engine air filter (this you can yourself.)

windsheild wiper blades (inspect them, use your judgement if time to replace)
replace radiator cap (more preventative if anything)
rotate tires

Whats done on 90000 inspection

Surely your not waiting for 90,000 miles
to do all sorts of things
By then you should have changed your transmission
& power steering fluids at least 2 times & flushed your
brake fluid every 2 years on all vehicles
I do Air,Cabin,Fuel Filter & Spark Plugs every 3 year
What your asking is Manufacture Recommended Service
Wait on that you will either break down or have a vehicle
that won't last much past 100,000
The question you ask is in your owners manual
You need a vehicle Log Book
You need to develop your own Preventative
Maintenance Schedule based on time as well
as mileage & forget the manufacturescheduled
maintenance,your schedule will include theirs
& much most based on your lifetime of knowledge
& experience & repairs
You treat ALL Vehicles the same
It's not a wait & see game
It is about education & preventing problem
down the road
No vehicle manufacture really care what you do
or they would tell you about power steering, brake
fluid & stop with the silly 100,000 spark plug & trans
fluid changed,by then the damage will be done

Does my Civic have a timing chain or a timing belt

It has a timing belt. Recommended to be replace every 105,000 miles, timing belt also run's your water pump good idea to also replace, your engine is also an INTERFERENCE ENGINE which will damage your cylinder head valve's if timing belt goes bad. Hope this was very helpful.

2003 Cavalier maintenance schedule

I would change oil, oil filter, rotate and possibly balance tires, flush transmission (if fluid is not dark brown or black), change fuel filter, pcv valve, air filter, wiper blades. If near 100k I would add Plugs and wires, and check into a coolant flush and possibly changing out theremostat. Its all dependant upon how much money you want to spend on your car. That list is pretty heavy on the ole wallet. However, I have listed the items to be done in order from greatest necessity to smallest necessity for you.
