so what your trying to say is that the oxygen sensors gone bad?

1 Answer

The shop failed to do basic preventative maintenance
such as scan the systems, look at data & possibly road test
The vehicle is a 2000 year you ask about oxygen sensors
& when they were replaced & look at mileage They get changed
at 100,000 miles
You got idle issues
What happened there? They let that go also
Google any codes you get
OBD PO171 etc
I would find a different shop
Tune-Up is no more than spark plugs & that
is preventative maintenance
You don't do a tune-up for a problem
You do spark plugs every 3 years & then you know
when they were done last & proceed to diagnose the
drivabelity issues
These shops will do & sell what ever you ask & then some
to stay in business
They fail to really check your vehicle over completely
you can't install spark plugs & throw on wires you don't need
& expect that to do a thing as far as knowing how the vehicle
is operating.there electronically controlled & need those systems also

I was referring to the shops asking you about oxygen sensors, not you asking them They just sold you what you asked Never checked a thing because they don't know how to sell, price or educate you & know people hate the shop to begin with

The up and down idle kind of sounds like a vacuum leak. Did you have to remove the plenum to replace the rear plugs? Have you checked for a vacuum leak? What kind of plugs did you put in it?

Service engine light on 2000 mitsubishi eciplse GT V-6

This could be as simple as a loose or defective gas cap. Beyond that you will need to retreve the codes with an O.D.B. II code reader.

Change a crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 eclipse

Is this a V6 or 4cyl???>>>(V6) This requires removing the Harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). Remove (R) front wheel, remove engine splash Guard, Remove crank pulley, remove lower timing belt cover. The Crank sensor is located behind the crank shaft pulley!! I highly recommend having this done by a certified tech, requires special tools. Hopefully this helps!!

2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS V6 3.0L Cylinder 3 Misfire

Anything is possible but if you want to know if #3 is really misfiring and hurting the performance try pulling the plug wire to cylinder # 3 with the engine off (so you don't get shocked) Now start the care and see how it runs. If it runs the same then #3 is really bad. In that case imagine how much better it would run if #3 was up and operating correctly.
