Electronic Modules do not break as your asking
They are a circuit board & they usually fail from
improper testing or a wiring problem that creates
a high amperage or current draw
If there is a problem with the main PCM.ECM,ECU
all the same item, then possibly you have a starting issues
The failure rate is very low so you test every component,
in every system & every wire before you ever get to testing
an ECU
The exception would be if the term ecu is used for a window,
seat, air conditioning or body function, then you test that one.
It may start with a failed ecu as you ask,but some features of it's
ability to compare & control thing could be lost.
Basically forget it & develop a diagnostic strategy for whatever
problems come up

If the starter is spinning and not engaging the flywheel to start the car, suspect a defective starter drive clutch and starter replacement will be required

The reason could be any of these:

  2. Battery discharged or faulty.
  3. Broken, disconnected or loose wiring in the starting circuit.
  4. Automatic gear shift no in Parking position.
  5. Starter motor pinion jammed in flywheel ring gear.
  6. starter solenoid faulty.

NOT RESPONDING TO THE STARTER COULD BE THE ANTITHEFT SYSTEM. GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH KEYS IN HAND, CLOSE ALL DOORS AND HOOD TRUNK ETC. LOCK ALL DOORS THEN OPEN DOORS WITH THE KEYPAD OR THE REMOTE AND TRY STARTING CAR

M car started to shake and enginelight flashed...i purchased spark plugs and wires like the salesperson said to and said it would stop but it still does it. i have also addedd "heat" to the gas tank...

Possible broken motor mount. A broken motor mount can do that. To check to see if one is broken ,open hood ,start engine, press foot on brake hard, put in gear and give it some throttle. If the engine moves a lot then u have a broken motor mount.
