Sounds like a solenoid failure, remove the starter and have it tested.

My ford laser wont start

What often happens is the switch on the brake pedal gets knocked around by the driver's feet. This switch is suppose to be a safety switch to insure that your foot is on the brake pedal before it lets the starter work. On some models another safety switch is on the gear shift to insure that the vehicle is in Park or Neutral. If your vehicle is a stick-shift they sometimes put the switch on the clutch lever to make sure you do not try to start the car in gear.

I have a 2003 bmw x5 and it wont crank. All the light and everything works properly but when i turn the key over there is no noise...nothing. I can take the key in and out and keep trying and it will...

Starters have a solenoid that can go bad. I don't know for sure on that model car but most cares now have a rod that runs down through the steering column and activates an electrical box. follow your wires under the dash and see if they run into a box attached to the column.

I have a 2002 sunfire... and i have trouble turning it on. Once it startes it is stuck there because it will not turn at all. Once it is in this position the wipes wont work, the windows wont roll down,...

sounds like you need a new ignition, reason nothing works cause once it doese turn over n starts the car the tumbler is stick in the starting position jus not far enough to keep the starter engaged but far enough the it still trying to go trough the start process which cuts the power to everything else till the ignition returns to the on postion

did you try jus turning the ignition far enough to when the starter engages jus let go of it so the car doesnt start and see if everything else still doesnt work if it dont i belive its the igniton

also with out starting it or engaging the starter as in just turning the key on to get power does anything work?

2004 325xi BMW wont start - replace spark plugs and fuel pump

If u hear the engine cranking in the AM, the batt & alt sound good. If you don't get any engine cranking in the am you may have an electrical short draining the battery. Before u convict the starter u must make sure the battery has full power in the AM. (12V) & 12 V to the starter

My sebring wont start checked everything theres current to everything and the starter wont engage changed starter and by passed ignition and wont start HELP

Check ALL Grounds, Start @ Battery and Work your way around the Engine Compartment, Look for Coroded Connections / Loose ones also, there is A Black SINGLE PLUG in the Battery Area that comes Directly FROM the NEGATIVE Terminal of the BATTERY that is Problematic if it gets Moisture in it and A CYCLE of Connect & Disconnections When Cleaned with Carb Cleaner Will Correct this Poor Connection Problem. BODY GROUNDS are Also Ones to Look at. What you Discribe Is Indicative Of A POOR GROUND CAUSING the NO SPIN @ Starter. Remember that the on your Vehicle's Starter Requires at Liest 200 Amps to Start it.>>>>>> My Point being that Just Because all Electrical Components May be working Doesnt Mean the Starter Will Crank the Engine, The STARTER is the Highest Amprage DRAWING Component On ANY VEHICLE Thus A GOOD GROUND IS A MUST. This Will Help Lead you to the CAUSE<<<<<<<<< Assuming you have Charged and LOAD TESTED the Battery and it IS GOOD.

I have bmw 316i n reg went out to start it and there was nothing it would bump start so i changed starter motor and next day was fine then day after it done it again does anyone know what it could be...

there may be a damaged wire coming from the receiver ring which sits round your ignition lock, this "reads" your key and allows the starter to turn your engine over so if there is an intermittant fault here that could cause your non-starting.

Replaced starter but she still wont start

I assume you know that the starter turns over the engine,in a mechanical sense.
It has nothing to do with starting your vehicle, other than turning the ignition pulse wheel (Flywheel)

What help do you want?
Do you even work on your own vehicle?

I have a 90 735i in good condition runs great. the problem im having is lately it doesnt start after ive driven it somewhere and go to get back in it and start it again it doesnt do anything but everything...

The starter motor needs to be repaired. sometimes it is just the solenoid, but most of the time it is either the carbon brushes or the starter armature that has an open circuit on the commutator.
