SOURCE: bonnet release in grill broke renault megane scenic

when you say the bonnet has been pushed in do you mean like in a traffic accident if this is the case then is your grill damaged, the reason i say this is the only way you are going to open your bonnet is through your grill so a replacement grill will be needed.if you take this course of action, take a torch and look up under the bonnet you will se the bonnet realease at the very front of your bonnet it will have the bonnet realease cable attached you might need help at this stage, get a friend to push down on your bonnet, put your hand in and push or pull the lever until it releases as this works on a hook system and with the damage it might need a pretty stronge screwdriver to force it always remember the radiator is very easly damaged and very costly to replace .Hope this will help you get your bonnet open .adrian

SOURCE: renault megane scenic ( t-reg)

The sunroof drainage gets blocked.

your footwells will fill with water - even under your seats right to the back seats footwells

See two 10mm holes in front sides when sunroof is open.
a) push a flexible cable down from the top - it comes out just behind the front wheels. (use electric three core cable - or TV aerial cable - a hanger is too short) - you need about a metre and a half)
b) remove the inner mudgaurd behind the front wheels (2 screws) you will see the end of the plastic drainage pipes - remove the blocked black rubber cup at the end of these - why they are there is anybody's guess)

Odo data error; the check engine light stays on and it's giving me this warning error. I just had the slave cylinder and clutch safety switch replaced. Is it possible it just need to be reset?

If the light is on then a fault exists in the system and you need to have the fault code read with a scan tool, it resets by itself when the fault is corrected.

I have an intermittent fault on my range rover hse 2006 automatic, seems to miss a gear revs then surges into the gear change, sometimes the dashboard warning reads transmission fault, limited gears...

It could very well be the gear box. Before I read that part of your question I was leaning that way. It could also be a malfunctioning computer chip. I would find another garage that will diagnose the problem independently. Just tell them the problem don't say you had another garage look at it already. If they have the same result go with the lower bid or ask if they can be the lower bid. If they are different diagnosis you may want a third opinion. Of course this is assuming that each diagnosis is free. Good luck.

ABS and ESP lights on all the time. I bought Audi A4 B6 2004 only two months ago. It started in heavy rain.

The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP & ABS lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP & ABS system is faulty. You must access the ESP & ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car (placed in dashboard, under a plastic cover above the ashtray). Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP & ABS ECU, in other words reset the ESP & ABS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.

Electronic handbrake will not release Jaguar S Type 2004

Common problem - normally caused by low battery voltage. Disconnect battery for 10 mins (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RADIO CODE) reconnect battery - then follow instructions on dashboard to reset park/brake. Use this method for all p/brake faults as 95% of the time it resets them. Hope this helps - good luck.

I have a 2003 BMW X5, how do I reset the service indicator?

Hi,

You can reset your service indicator, as follows:
  1. Get in the car, close the door, buckle the seatbelt.
  2. Push in the clutch pedal and hold it to the floor
  3. Press the left hand dash button (the one that resets your odometer) and hold it down
  4. Put the ignition key in the key slot, and turn it gently (very gently) until the dashboard lights come on - the key will not click - if it clicks you've gone too far and you have to start again. Hold the key in this position. In five seconds or so, the dash will display "SIA" and some other characters. Do not proceed until this happens.
  5. Release the dash button (and only the dashboard button) and then press and hold it again. In another 5 seconds or so the display should begin to flash "RESET?" Do not proceed until this happens.
  6. Release the dash button and push it again to confirm. You won't need to hold it - the display should change immediately and your service indicator will display five green LED's.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this answer. Many Thanks.

Mazda rx-8 wont start

The first thing you need to do is have the electronic engine control system scanned for fault codes, this is called an "OBD2" fault code test.

Dash, running lights, radio..on and off

Something similar happened to my 2005. the gauges went crazy! stopped half way or dropped completely down. Like the fuel indicator, speedometer, tach. While I never lost the radio or headlights, I did lose my dashboard lights--pretty creepy at night. My husband did some online digging and found the problem. In the dashboard gauge set-up there is a poor solder on one of the electronic components. He took the gauge center off, popped it open, found the crappy solder, fixed it, put it back in and it has worked fine ever since!!!

the ****--Ford knows about this faulty soldering and since it doesn\'t happen to ALL of the cars--just a select few(even more models we found out later)--they won\'t do a recall. Even if you take it to a dealership for them to fix, odds are they could replace it with an entire unit with the same problem. Your best bet is to fix the bad solder yourself or find someone who can.

Power to many of this vehicle's circuits are controlled by the module that is designated the Power Mode Master (PMM). This vehicle's PMM is the Body Control Module (BCM). The PMM controls which power mode (Run, Accessory, Crank, or Off) is active.
Serial Data Power Mode
On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the Power Mode Master (PMM). The BCM is the PMM on this vehicle. The PMM receives 3 discrete ignition switch signals to differentiate which power mode will be sent over the Class 2 Serial Data circuit.
To determine the correct power mode the PMM uses the following circuits:
• Ignition 0
• Ignition 1
• Ignition 3

Discrete Ignition Signals
Those modules that have discrete ignition signal inputs also remain in the state dictated by the last valid PMM message received on the serial data circuits. They then check the state of their discrete ignition input to determine the current valid state. If the discrete ignition input is active, battery positive voltage, the modules will fail-safe to the RUN power mode. If the discrete ignition input is not active, open, or 0 volts, the modules will fail-safe to OFF-AWAKE. In this state the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle.
Do you know what class 2 is ?

Class 2 Serial Data Link
The following modules use the class 2 serial data link to communicate with each other:
• The body control module (BCM)
• The digital radio receiver (DRR)
• The electronic brake control module (EBCM)
• The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM)
• The powertrain control module (PCM)
• The radio
• The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD)
The class 2 serial data link also allows a scan tool to communicate with the above modules for diagnostic and testing purposes.
The class 2 serial data link on this vehicle is configured in a star pattern. There is no redundant path for the serial data to flow through. If a class 2 serial data circuit develops an open condition, the module connected by that circuit will not be able to communicate.

It is an electronic starter. ????? No it's not ! View a starter circuit here at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. under system click on engine ,then under sub system click starting .
