I think you meant fix, and the only fix I know is to go and get one out of a junk yard or buy one from a parts place. There are many numbers on the motor, look for them. Take the motor out if possible and that way you can match it up. Most get worn out from use or water. They have a field like a starter, and that is hard to fix. If you do mean fit, only the original or sister car's will fit in that space to allow clearance for the window guide. Hope that helps.

How do I replace window motors?

did you have your switches checked 1st? they may be the fault which is a lot easier to repair than stripping your door down just to find out is was the switch;
I did an electric window repair recently and found that the drive gear and track that runs on it just needed lubricating as they had become dry over the years as they do not get serviced.
To remove the motor you will need to remove the interior door trim and plastic weather seal behind it to gain access to the inside of the door.
some of the electric window mechanisms are pop riveted to the door panel which you will have to drill out the pop rivets and replace them with new ones when you are fitting it all back in the door.
Some electric widows run on a cable setup which you will have to replace the whole setup as a unit.

1988 mustang passenger window stopped working.driver side works.press button motor silent.locks still work.what could it be? fuse?

Oh! Its 1988!!
  • Check whether the fuse is blown in the fuse box
  • Probably the motor is dead
  • Open the door panel
  • Buy a motor depending on the model
  • Fit it yourself
  • good luck

What amp altanator does does 2.0 gas motor have?

It depends more on the electrical demands on your car i.e. electric windows etc than engine size but most modern cars have between an 90 and 130 amp alternator fitted, the ampage is usually written on the manufacturers sticker on the alternator also.

Hope this helps

Rear electric window will notwork

Yes . Remove door panel, switch connectors and plastic protective covering on the door. have a helper pull the windw up while you measure the distance from bottom of window regulator to bottom of door panel.
(approx 8-12"), cut a block of wood that will fit between the bottom of the regulator to bottom of door panel wedge it threw the opening in the door a place it between the regulator and door bottom. Wood is soft and sturdy and should hold up until you get the window fixed.
Can the driver control panel switch make that window work. If the answer is No then the problem is the motor on that side. If the answer is yes then the problem is the switch on that window. by the way if the driver control panel gets the window to rise Merry Christmas you don't need the wooden block.

The drivers window of my 2006 suzuki swift has stopped working, all other electrics are ok I'm told the motor need replacing why would this fail the car has only done 13000 miles

Hi most likely it has not failed with them miles on the car.

Take the inner door trim off and have a look around the motor ensure the plug is connected correctly to the motor, and that no wires are contacting the car body.

Also where the door opens and closes the door jam has wires running from the door to the inside of the car door look and check they have not been damaged.

Finally the electric window switch could be at fault pop it out and turn it over make sure all wires are correct and fitted right.
