Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Transmission jerking When in low gear when I give it gas to take off up hill it jerks really bad. Even in high taking off slowly it jerks Real bad and when u get going it quits. Took off the belt Cover and belt looks good but just behind the back wheel on the belt drive there is a disc shaped piece that almost looks like a rotor but when I turn the belt and the ranger begins to move it moves as well. So it must be part of the drive train and it is very loose I can wiggle it back and forth with great ease and quite a bunch of movement side to side. What could this be? Thank u for your time.

Transmission shifts sometimes hard at third gear. when the key is switched off and restarted, the gears picks normal except the third gear which jerks. suddenly the gear will jerk especially if you...

Have your error code read (if the CEL is coming on, there should be one stored in the computer). Some auto parts stores will plug in a reader and pull the code for free. Your transmission could be going bad or it could be as simple as a gear pressure/speed sensor wearing out (which is a relatively inexpensive fix), but the error code should help you figure out what's going on.

96 escort 1.9 manual jerking while accelerating 96 escort 1.9 manual

best advice is dont go 40mph in 5th gear... if you are going up a hill at 40mph in 5th gear i have no doubt that it is jerking, your putting too much stress on the engine. shift up to 4th or 3rd you will be fine. 5th gear is an overdrive gear. 55+mph

I suggest you have a transmission shop take a close look at your vehicle. That year accord with a v6 and automatic transmission had a recall for the transmission and your problem seems to be a slowly dying tranny.

My Mercury Villiger's been over heating, it just started im going to replace the thermostat, but when going up hill the van jerks as if it wants to die down on me. When i say jerks i mean shakes really bad...

The jerking could be the EGR valve--as you have a
high vacuum signal under a load, meaning going up hill
and on the gas

The overheating issue could be effecting the ignition
and again cause misfires going up hill

When ever I have any problems I immediately stop
using the vehicle until ALL Problems are resolved

Remember your not working on a ford if I
recall, it is actually a nissan powertrain
